Chapter 272: 132, Lin Mo live stream, exposes Chen Shanhe!!_6
In just a moment, the number of people foraging at the reef area dwindled significantly, looking over, one could see it had thinned out to fewer than a dozen people.
Lin Mo held his head up proudly and said to his stunned family with a smile, “How about that, pretty awesome, right?”
“From now on, this sacred foraging ground belongs to our family!”
The family stood there dumbfounded, and after a moment, they couldn’t help but give thumbs up in admiration.
“Oh yeah! Dad is the best!”
“It’s actually raining; your friend is even more reliable than the weather forecast.”
“Wow, with such a big area, I wouldn’t be surprised to find one or two yellow croakers!”
“If we really found one or two yellow croakers, we’d strike it rich. Aren’t wild yellow croakers at least 500 bucks a pound now?”
“500? That’s for ones under 5 taels. If it’s eight or nine taels, it would cost a thousand bucks per pound. I tried it once at work; it’s really tasty!”
“Let’s have a contest starting now to see who catches the most fish.”
“Challenge accepted!”
The whole family was overjoyed, picking up buckets and long tongs, searching from puddle to puddle in the rain, while occasionally someone would ask Lin Mo if they could buy his umbrella, reminding the family of the incident at the music festival they once attended.
Although it had been only a few short months since then, mentioning it now made it seem as if a lot of time had passed.
By noon, Lin Mo and his family found a seafood processing shop, handed over all their seafood to the server, paid the processing fee, and soon buckets of fish and shrimp turned into fragrant seafood feasts.
“The stuff we catch ourselves just tastes better!”
“Mumu, this is the crab you caught; you get the first bite.”
“Today I caught the most, Mumu. Isn’t Grandpa amazing?”
“Grandpa is amazing, but Daddy is even more so!”
“Right, right, your dad is amazing. If not for him, we’d have gone home empty-handed today.”
“Jingcheng, tell your mom the truth about how you guessed it would rain today. Don’t say it’s arthritic, your friend isn’t even on this island, so what’s this about arthritic?”
“Haha, Mom, haven’t I told you? I observe the stars at night.”
“Keep blowing your own trumpet.”
The family chatted and dined on their freshly caught seafood, seemingly with endless topics to talk about.
…
In the following days, the family spent their time on Qianye Island.
In the mornings, they would go foraging or sea fishing, and come noon they’d find a seafood processing shop to eat the seafood they had caught.
If they hadn’t caught anything, they’d just buy some.
If they weren’t too tired in the afternoon, everyone would sit together, listen to Zhang Li lecture, or collectively rant about Chen Shanhe, venting their negative emotions.
Communication was really very effective.
At least for Lin Mo and his family, after days of in-depth interaction, their whole mindset had undergone earth-shattering changes.
They not only accepted their new identities but also became much calmer when encountering police or other public officials.
At one point, after finishing a meal, the table next to them discussed the warrant for their family.
The father-in-law even joined in the conversation, discussing with others how they would spend the ten million reward if they were to catch the family, leaving his own table in a fit of laughter and tears.
Of course, Lin Mo didn’t idle away his time. Aside from spending time with his family, he would chat with islanders whenever he had a chance, inquiring about the legends of Qianye Island.
And each question was met with ignorance.
Despite the island not being very large, there were over a dozen legends of various versions.
There were tales of hauntings, celestial beings, various sacred animals, and Mazu appearing to save fishermen, and so on and so forth…
A couple of the legends seemed fairly credible to Lin Mo.
One spoke of the Ming Dynasty’s struggles against Japanese invaders, where generals Qi Jiguang and Yu Dayou led their troops to eradicate the pirate Wu Ping in the Fujian and Guangdong areas. Wu Ping had no time to escape and supposedly hid a large amount of gold and silver somewhere offshore.
Another legend claimed that a great dignitary from Qianye Island became the Prime Minister, and devoid of heirs, he buried all of his lifetime earnings in his grave upon his soul’s return to his homeland.
As to where the actual grave is, no one knows.
Lin Mo also took the time to visit the coordinate point provided by the Intelligence System, which was an offshore aquaculture area said to have been used for abalone farming by a contractor who, after losing a significant amount of money over a three-year disaster period, had abandoned the area.
Lin Mo was not short on funds at the moment and not familiar with underwater salvage, so he had no immediate plans for treasure hunting.
He’d rather wait until money was really needed. After all, that treasure had been buried for who-knows-how-many years, and Lin Mo didn’t believe someone would just happen to dig it up before him.
Beyond everyday affairs, Lin Mo focused much of his attention on Chen Shanhe and the deep web.
According to Intelligence System reports from the past few days, Chen Shanhe seemingly straightened out quite a bit after being summoned a few times by even more powerful figures. He had relaxed the blockade on East Sea City and even the heat on Lin Mo’s family’s warrants had significantly decreased.
The previous fervor was clearly someone stoking the fire.
Otherwise, a warrant issued abroad might not have even made it to the domestic scene, let alone caused such a stir?
Meanwhile,
Lin Mo became even more convinced of his previous thoughts.
