Chapter 6
“Vincent, have you figured out how to apologize to Flora Gates?” Dragon Town asked, baring its teeth.
Vincent chuckled awkwardly, not answering.
“You don’t think you don’t have to apologize, do you?” Dragon Town’s dragon head moved closer to Vincent, its huge eyes full of coldness.
“Of course not, I will definitely apologize. I just haven’t prepared the apology gift yet,” Vincent could only reply sincerely.
“That’s more like it.” Dragon Town finally moved its head away.
A man and a dragon stared at each other, speechless.
“Do you… regret it?” Dragon Town asked slowly, its tone gentle, its body appearing more relaxed than before.
“Regret? What is there to regret?” Vincent didn’t know what Dragon Town was asking.
“The fact that you gave up the Three-tailed Fox bloodline and chose the elusive [Dimension Summon] to contract your initial pet beast.”
“How could I possibly regret a choice I made myself?”
Vincent continued to speak.
“It’s been eight years since the night when you brought my father’s corpse to me and roared those words.”
“Live well! And become stronger!”
He paused for a moment after saying this.
“The Three-tailed Fox is a high-level commander, very powerful, just like you. But what’s the use? Can it help me get revenge?”
“You, a pet beast with such strength, have never talked to me about revenge. I don’t even know who my enemy is.”
“Now I have waited for eight years. How many more years will it take to cultivate the Three-tailed Fox to your level? How many years will it take to achieve an even higher level?”
“There are two choices in front of me.”
“The first is to follow the path step by step, not knowing how many years later, not knowing how hard I must struggle to win an elusive hope.”
“The second is a tangible hope.”
“If I had to choose again, I would still choose the second one.”
Having said all this in one breath, Vincent looked directly at Dragon Town, the determination in his eyes moved Dragon Town.
“Hahaha!”
Dragon Town laughed wildly, the booming laughter causing the ground to tremble slightly.
“Good!”
“A true man should be like this! Daring to act and take responsibility!”
“It’s just…what a pity.” Dragon Town finished speaking and a pure white, jade-like bracelet appeared on its right claw wrist.
Dragon Town took off the bracelet and handed it to a curious Vincent.
“This is your father’s Space Bracelet, containing all his savings.”
“The reason I’m giving you this Space Bracelet now is that it can only be used when you have a Beast Space and have energy in it.”
Vincent took the bracelet, and the moment he put it on his wrist, it began to shrink, fitting snugly around his wrist.
He input a bit of energy into the bracelet, which started to glow and then slowly became invisible, disappearing from sight.
However, Vincent could still sense the bracelet even after it disappeared. He explored inside it with his consciousness, immediately stunned by the abundant resources.
The entire Space Bracelet has a size of 5x5x5 meters, with the lowest grade resources being high-level extraordinary and the highest grade resources being three high-level commander-level resources.
There were also hundreds of different attribute Crystal Stones, two Beast Techniques, and some potions used by Beast Masters.
Seeing Vincent shocked by the items inside, Dragon Town said:
“Since you’ve made the wrong bet, forget about revenge. They don’t know your identity for now, and even if they find out, they won’t bother dealing with you if you don’t have any achievements. Just live a peaceful life as a rich man.”
“If you don’t want to continue on the path of a Beast Master, the resources inside should be enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life.”
“How did I make the wrong bet? And why does it sound like you don’t want me to be a Beast Master?” Vincent was a bit puzzled.
“Didn’t you use [Dimension Summon] to bet on a pet beast that’s better than the Three-tailed Fox? Now you only have a Slime that’s your initial pet beast. What kind of Beast Master will you be in the future? You might as well go back to farming.”
“When did I say that Slime is worse than the Three-tailed Fox?” Vincent was even more confused.
Dragon Town almost fainted from anger.
“Do you think I’m a three-year-old child? Are you saying Slime is stronger than the Three-tailed Fox? I’ve never heard of a pet beast’s intelligence affecting its Beast Master. Is Slime’s hidden Trait?”
Vincent, feeling discontented, hurriedly summoned Sam the Slime.
“Sam, show him what you can do!”
As soon as Sam landed, it immediately used [Rapid Movement], its speed so fast that one could only see a faint blue afterimage weaving through the air.
“Again!”
Next, Sam used [Rush] and [Spit Water].
Seeing Dragon Town’s eyes wide open and its face full of disbelief, Vincent straightened his back, proud to have a laugh.
Strong? I trained it myself!
“Vincent, are you sure you’ve only had this Slime for two days?”
“That’s right.”
“It can use three abilities in just two days? And have all of them mastered? That [Rapid Movement] is almost at the perfect level.”
Dragon Town was genuinely astonished. “You must know that for an average pet beast, it takes half a year to a year to master one ability. And to reach the Perfect Level, a pet beast without extraordinary talent cannot achieve it in a lifetime!”
Vincent thought to himself: “These abilities were all trained by me. If I had to rely on Sam, I’d be grateful if he could even master one in a lifetime.”
“It seems that your Slime is indeed extraordinary. It’s just a pity that its species level is too low to start with. It would take too much effort to change it, and it’s not worth it.” Dragon Town shook its head in regret.
“Well, that may not be true.”
Vincent described Sam’s talent skill [Devour] for Dragon Town to hear.
“This…”
Dragon Town didn’t know what to say.
“Do you still think the Three-tailed Fox is stronger than Sam now?” Vincent raised an eyebrow, grinning mischievously.
“Ahem, you still need to apologize for what you should apologize for; as for the rest… I’m old, you can decide for yourself.” Dragon Town said after a cough.
Vincent knew that he had persuaded Dragon Town and was overjoyed. He immediately grabbed Dragon Town’s claw and led it to the two-story building.
“Old Lizard, I have a bold idea. Will you try it with me?”
“No, no, no! Little master, I don’t want to throw up again!” Dragon Town’s face turned pale, and its giant body trembled uncontrollably.
“Be good, just take a bite, taste it, or even lick it!”
“But it’s not something a pet beast should eat!”
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve already improved it; I guarantee it suits the taste of dragon-type pet beasts!”
“But you said the same thing last time!”
“It doesn’t matter; a pet beast won’t die from eating it. It’s just some pet beast food. You’re four meters tall. You shouldn’t be afraid.”
“But just because I’m tall doesn’t mean I can eat poison as if it’s a meal! Don’t you taste your own creations?”
“Why would I eat something meant for the pet beast? Do you think I’m stupid?”
