Chapter 348: Chapter 346: Lin Clan, is also my home_1
“What you’re saying isn’t right, Second Brother.”
Su Qingluo said with a playful gleam in her eyes, her voice full of mirth, “The Lin Clan you speak of is also my home, don’t you consider me part of the family, Second Brother?”
“No, no, Qingluo, you misunderstood. I didn’t mean it that way.”
Lin Jinxu was caught off guard and let out an awkward laugh while gritting his teeth.
“Second Brother, don’t be so formal with Qingluo. We’re all family here. If you keep on refusing, it’ll seem as if you’re the one being an outsider.”
Lin Jinyang, having spent over a month in the countryside, had naturally begun to truly regard Su Qingluo as his own sister.
Therefore, he had no qualms advising his second brother to be less standoffish.
“Sixth Brother truly understands Qingluo.”
Su Qingluo returned a sweet smile, “Knowing that Sixth Brother considers Qingluo his own sister brings me great joy.”
“Hehe.”
Lin Jinyang beamed with pleasure, scratching his nose and laughing like a fool.
“Of course, we regard Qingluo as part of this family. Second Brother just speaks clumsily and sometimes fails to convey his intentions. Qingluo, don’t hold it against him.”
Lin Jinzhou saw his second brother’s ears blush with embarrassment and quickly explained him out of the situation.
“Third Brother, you’re joking. How could Qingluo ever hold that against Second Brother?”
Su Qingluo’s eyes flashed with mischief and feigned annoyance.
“Ahem, I messed up again.”
Lin Jinzhou laughed awkwardly, coughing a few times to alleviate his embarrassment.
“Hahaha.”
Lin Jinyang was greatly amused seeing his two brothers at a loss for words and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
The group returned home amidst laughter. Wang Meng had already placed the pearls on Su Qingluo’s bed and walked out of the room, waiting at the entrance.
The 123 pearls were round and smooth, their colorful glows made them exceptionally beautiful.
Su Qingluo stored the pearls in the Storage Ring and planned to pack them in a box in a few days. She planned to have her brothers take them back to the Duke of Zhen’s mansion to present to their elders who they had not seen for a long time.
As the night deepened, the three Lin brothers bid farewell and before leaving, they agreed to go hunting in the mountains early the next morning.
After seeing her brothers off, Su Qingluo passed by the stable. The young colt Yellow Jujube, who had just been born, neighed joyously and came running out of the stable to rub affectionately against her arm.
“Hee hee.”
Jujube followed closely behind, caught the rope in its mouth and pulled Yellow Jujube back to the stable.
“Hee hee.”
The little colt frolics around the yard, not wanting to go back.
“Good boy, Yellow Jujube. Listen to mommy. It’s dark outside at night; you can’t run around.”
Su Qingluo’s forehead glowed golden as she gently patted the little horse.
“Hee hee.”
The little colt seemed to understand, and after giving an obedient neigh, followed Jujube back into the stable.
After securing the rope, Su Qingluo returned to her own room with a smile.
“Sister, I want to go hunting in the mountains with you tomorrow.”
The Little Prince had sharp ears and had overheard Su Qingluo and the Lin brothers making plans. Seeing her return, he couldn’t wait to wrap his arms around his sister’s arm.
“If you want to go, you can.”
Su Qingluo was also interested in taking him. There were rare medicinal plants growing deep in the mountains. Teaching him how to pick them in person would be more effective than learning from books.
“That’s great.”
The Little Prince was overjoyed, rolling around on the bed in delight.
“Time to go to bed now. We have to get up early tomorrow.”
Smiling, Su Qingluo brought hot water from the kitchen for him to bathe. She then picked up her own curtains and headed towards Li Xiu’e’s room to wash herself.
After a comfortable hot bath, she removed the filth brought by the river water. While Li Xiu’e was drying her hair, she pulled out ten pearls from the Storage Ring and placed them by her mother’s bedside.
“My dear, you should keep those pearls. Mother doesn’t need them.”
Seeing her gentle and thoughtful daughter, Li Xiu’e’s heart swelled with sweetness.
