Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Intelligence or Good Luck

Dylan Summers returned home late at night.
He believed that he had covered all his bases, and thus invited a lawyer to dine with him outside.
However, when he returned, he learned of the foolish mistake Laura had made.
Initially, he destroyed all the evidence in Purple Summers’ hands, so even if she insisted on appealing, she would have no proof. If she made random accusations, Dylan could counter-sue her for defamation and extortion. But now, everything was destroyed by that one recording!
Even if the recording only contained Laura’s insults, people outside would think it was Dylan’s indulgence that led to his daughter’s bullying behavior!
How would people see him? Cold, harsh, cruel, and lacking compassion?
His character would be questioned, and his career could be affected by this, making it difficult to advance further!
Even Yolanda Summers, who had not participated in this matter at all, would be implicated!
Evil-hearted Summers Family sisters – people would evaluate them like this.
Laura’s momentary pleasure had ruined her future, as well as Yolanda’s and Dylan’s.
Dylan Summers was furious!
In his rage, he smashed the ashtray in his study and violently slapped Laura twice.
He had no son and had devoted all his effort to grooming his two daughters, even going to great lengths to send them to Grey. He did this to have them support him in the future, not to tarnish his reputation!
Yolanda and the housekeeper came rushing in upon hearing the commotion and pleaded for Laura.
Dylan was still angry but couldn’t beat his daughter in front of the servants. He drove everyone out of the study and called the lawyer again, explaining the situation.
Laura would have her major exams in a year, and Yolanda was approaching the age of marriage. He had been the director-general for quite some time.
He could not afford to have an issue at this critical juncture.
He had to settle this matter!
The following morning, Dylan personally brought a bank card with 300 thousand dollars on it.
Purple hadn’t slept well the night before and had gotten up late, so the card ended up in Atra Blanc’s hands.
Atra was dumbfounded by the sudden gift of 300 thousand dollars.
“This… this…” Atra held the bank card, completely baffled and unclear about the situation.
Dylan’s demeanor was gentle, the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes smooth and relaxed, showing no trace of the rage he displayed the previous day. “Laura made a mistake, and as her father, I’m very ashamed. Since the child wants to go to school, we adults shouldn’t let her down. Here’s the tuition fee, you take it.”
His words showed both magnanimity and concern as an elder.
Atra Blanc whispered: “But this is…”
Wasn’t this too much? Besides, didn’t he disagree before?
Receiving this large sum of money suddenly left Atra feeling uneasy.
Dylan’s smile was warm. “This is my intention, just accept it. Over the years, you have suffered a lot working for the Summers Family. Atra, the Summers Family has let you down.”
With a lonely expression, Atra said softly, “It’s not about letting down, we are a family…”
“Since we are family, don’t be formal with me. Just take this money.”
Dylan repeatedly urged Atra until she finally accepted the bank card.
Purple slowly descended the stairs.
She seemed as if she hadn’t woken up entirely, her steps unsteady. She glanced at Dylan and merely paused for a moment, then continued to walk down the stairs with a nonchalant expression.
“Big brother is here.” Purple greeted casually.
Atra said, “Purple, your elder brother brought the tuition fee specially. Thank him quickly.”
“Oh, thank you, big brother.” Purple graciously responded. However, how much sincerity was in her thanks remained to be seen.
Dylan’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Purple come down the stairs.
He found it hard to believe that a sixteen-year-old girl could be so manipulative as to reverse the situation at the first possible moment after the incident occurred.
Was she truly smart, or… did she just stumble upon good luck?
