Chapter 2528 Delay in Settlement
Fang Heng thought to himself as he approached a glass case and gave it a firm knock.
“Bang!!!”
The entire glass case shattered instantly.
Without even looking, he tossed the books inside into his backpack and moved on to the next one.
In just a few minutes, Ruan Ziying watched in astonishment as Fang Heng emptied the valuable collection that the Revolution Society had preserved for years.
“What are you standing there for? Hurry up and help! Grab as many as you can!”
The secret room contained only about twenty books, but there were plenty more outside.
Fang Heng casually checked a few, noting that a significant portion could enhance his occult experience points, while others seemed to be narrative texts with uncertain utility for now.
“Let’s take as many as we can,” he decided. “We’ll sort it out later.”
“Got it!”
Hearing this, Ruan Ziying felt a surge of excitement. She realized she was finally in on the action!
In the Watts game world, Ruan Ziying had worked hard for years, always chasing the Federation’s leads. She never dreamed she would be able to realize her efforts in such a way today.
With the acquisition of the important item, the Book of Greleng, Fang Heng felt a sense of relief wash over him.
The next step became much simpler.
They needed to help the Conservatives repel the attacks from the Revolution Society!
Fang Heng and Ruan Ziying filled their backpacks with all the books from the library and then moved toward the outside of the White Mage Tower.
Before long, they left the mage tower.
The battle outside was still ongoing.
Not far from the purple tower, Narlyev was being besieged by three Federation occult experts. Meanwhile, the elites from the Revolution Society were also receiving focused attention.
Fang Heng glanced at the mission description.
The task was to assist the Occult Union in repelling the reformist attacks.
The current mission completion rate was: 31%.
Let’s get started.
Fang Heng’s gaze focused on the mass of hell creatures in front of him, his expression melting like wax.
He switched the holy weapon skill back to his main body.
The passive skill, zombie clone, activated once more!
Instantly, swirling magic arrays appeared around Fang Heng’s body.
A swarm of Lickers burst forth from the magic arrays, immediately racing toward the battlefield.
“It’s the Lickers!”
Seeing the sudden appearance of the Licker swarm as a third party, everyone present felt a tightness in their chests.
Narlyev furrowed his brows, sensing that something was off.
According to the plan, Fang Heng should have summoned a large number of Lickers to help alleviate the pressure on the Conservatives much earlier.
Instead, Fang Heng’s arrival had been thirty minutes later than expected.
The Federation and the Occult Union were starting to panic.
Fang Heng was a demonic seed—an extremely dangerous entity.
Despite appearing to have some issues with the Revolution Society in the past, who could really be sure?
Both the Federation and the Occult Union knew they had been trying to find ways to control the spread of the demonic seeds in secret.
Now, they were already struggling to fend off the invasion from the Revolution Society. If they had to deal with Fang Heng as a powerful demonic seed on top of that…
It would be a major headache.
In an instant, the Licker swarm controlled by Fang Heng became a pivotal factor in the battle.
As the Conservatives watched anxiously, the Lickers surged toward the horde of hell creatures, viciously tearing into them with frenzied attacks.
Great!
They were allies!
Members of the Federation and the Occult Union breathed a sigh of relief at the sight.
“Let’s go! Help them!”
Various occult teams rushed in to assist.
The Licker swarm demonstrated their brutal nature on the battlefield, proving that they didn’t even need help; their sheer physical prowess was enough to decimate the invading hell creatures that threatened the headquarters of the Occult Union.
Meanwhile, Narlyev found himself increasingly entangled with numerous high-level investigators from the Federation, struggling to unleash the demonic powers he had wielded during the assault on the Revolution Society’s headquarters.
The tide of battle shifted dramatically with the arrival of the Licker swarm.
Fang Heng!
Narlyev glanced down at Fang Heng among the crowd.
That kid!
Narlyev felt puzzled.
Why was Fang Heng choosing this moment to assist the Conservatives?
He clearly had better opportunities to strike!
He could have even launched a direct attack on the periphery of the Hell Gate…
This would only put them in a more passive position.
Then there was Ge Tianyu!
Narlyev knew he was a target for the Conservatives, so he deliberately created a commotion to help Ge Tianyu draw heavy fire, allowing him to seize the Book of Greleng.
But why was Ge Tianyu taking so long?
The Conservatives weren’t guarding the Book of Greleng that closely.
It shouldn’t take this long.
“Boom!!!”
Lost in thought, Narlyev suddenly sensed something and quickly dodged to the right.
Two heavy magic cannons brushed past him and immediately blasted a bloody wound on his shoulder!
“Chi, chi chi…”
Black mist emanated from Narlyev’s injured shoulder as it rapidly began to heal itself.
He looked down again and spotted the leader of the Federation’s crisis management team not far away, the one who had unleashed that attack.
Elemental cannon?
To Narlyev, this attack felt more like a warning.
“Tch!”
Narlyev concluded that Ge Tianyu had likely encountered an accident, and with Fang Heng and the Federation crisis management team present, the situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable for him.
Continuing would only make things worse.
“Retreat!”
Narlyev made the decisive choice to pull back.
In the blink of an eye, he and his subordinates from the Revolution Society withdrew like a tide, leaving behind only a few hellish creatures within the conservative faction.
“No need to pursue!”
The Conservatives and the Federation, seeing this, didn’t dare to pursue and instead focused on clearing the invading hellish creatures.
After a little over ten minutes, calm returned once more.
The Occult Society was in disarray from the attack, and people emerged from the rubble, beginning to clean up the chaotic scene.
“Mr. Fang Heng.”
Fernando approached, flanked by several conservative members, and bowed his hands in gratitude, “Thank you for your assistance during our crisis. The Occult Union will remember this. If you ever need our help in the future, please do let us know. We will do our utmost to assist you.”
Fang Heng waved his hand dismissively, “No need for formalities.”
“Fang Heng, our headquarters has suffered significant damage. I still need to assess the losses…”
Just then, an assistant hurried over, bowing to report, “President, the Seal Tower is under attack, and the library has been looted…”
Fernando raised his hand to stop his subordinate from continuing, then turned to Fang Heng and said, “I apologize, Fang Heng, but I have too many matters to attend to and cannot stay with you. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me…”
“Okay, President, you can go ahead and handle your matters. We’ll be fine.”
Fang Heng watched as Fernando hurriedly left with his team.
Hints quickly flashed across his retina.
