Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Have the Quiz Results Come Out?
Editor: Inschain
Lu Rui patted Su Mian on the shoulder, comforting her, “Don’t think too much, maybe Qiaoqiao’s grades aren’t that bad.”
Su Mian shook her head helplessly and didn’t take his words to heart.
At dinner, Su Mian broached the subject with Qiao Yun.
“Have the quiz results come out?”
“Yes.” Qiao Yun looked up at her, her eyes pitch-black and beautiful, docile like a ragdoll cat.
Su Mian was instantly struck by her cuteness, “How did it go?”
“Not bad.” Qiao Yun didn’t hide anything and started to reach for her backpack to show them the report card.
What does she mean by not bad?
They thought Qiao Yun’s grades were mediocre and were thinking about how to console her, but Qiao Yun had already taken out the report card.
“First in class, oh, and also first in the grade.”
!!?
Jingzhi was stunned, suspecting he had heard a hallucination.
He even glanced at Lu Ting, whose expression was unreadable. Qiaoqiao’s grades are better than Tingting’s? That’s impossible, right?
Su Mian quickly took the report card and scanned it.
“First in the grade, really the first in the grade, first in the grade… let me take a moment.”
Su Mian held her forehead, feeling a bit dazed.
Lu Rui stepped forward, took the report card, and apologized to Qiao Yun, “Your mom is just too excited.”
Qiao Yun couldn’t understand why Su Mian was so excited and only told them, “I told you I could do it.”
Lu Rui felt ashamed, “We thought too much before, sorry.”
Su Mian was somewhat embarrassed; she had already arranged for a tutor, and now it was useless.
Jingzhi frowned as he glanced at the report card, remembering his previous doubts about Qiaoqiao’s poor grades, now feeling a pang of embarrassment.
Lu Ting watched the Lu couple’s faces fill with surprise and felt a surge of jealousy; her voice naturally said, “This quiz was quite easy, the monthly exam is the real deal, but since sister is so smart, there shouldn’t be a problem.”
Upon hearing Lu Ting’s words, they came to their senses.
A quiz and a formal exam are indeed different.
But regardless, Qiao Yun had secured the first place and deserved to be rewarded.
After dinner, Qiao Yun had an extra card with one hundred thousand on it in her hand.
Lu Ting also had one, but only fifty thousand because she was second in the class, eighth in the grade.
Lu Ting bit her lip, feeling very uncomfortable.
She knew that once Qiao Yun did well on a test, their parents would surely like her more.
As expected…
Later, Jingzhi still found Qiao Yun to say, “Congratulations on getting first place in the grade.”
Qiao Yun responded nonchalantly, “It was quite easy.”
Jingzhi felt ashamed, not sure if he was overthinking, but he felt that Qiao Yun’s remark about it being easy was implying something about his earlier suspicion of her cheating.
She was still holding a grudge, indeed just like a child.
“Is there anything you want? Big brother will get it for you.”
Qiao Yun shook her head faintly, “I don’t need anything.”
Jingzhi watched the beautiful Qiao Yun; her fair cheeks glowed softly under the light, softening the indifference in her eyes.
Yet the sense of distance was still apparent.
Qiao Yun noticed Jingzhi’s uneasy demeanor, she was puzzled but didn’t ask further.
Every time she told the truth, it was met with skepticism, so she decided to speak less in front of Jingzhi.
Jingzhi said, “Let me know when you need something.”
He planned to stay at the apartment in the city center for a few days.
He thought Qiao Yun was currently angry and decided to wait a few days until her anger subsided before talking to her.
Seeing Jingzhi going out so late, Lu Ting asked him with concern, “Big brother, are you going to work?”
“I’m going to stay at the apartment, it’s closer to the company.”
Jingzhi answered her and then, as if remembering something, asked her, “How is Qiaoqiao getting along with her class and classmates?”
Thinking of the book-throwing incident, he suspected that Qiaoqiao was being bullied at school.
