Chapter 1: Oh Mother
Thud!
The military caller tech fell to the cold, hard ground. Former S.H.I.E.L.D executive director, Nick Fury, looked down and watched his body rapidly fade to nothingness.
“Oh motherfu—” Before he’d the chance to utter his last words, Nick Fury fell prey to the power of the Infinity Stones as he turned to ashes, dissipating by the gust of wind in the heart of New York.
The after scene credits was the easter egg of Marvel’s latest movie series that hit the box office late this April. Thereafter, the cinematic screen blackened and names of people involved in the film’s creation slowly rolled from the bottom up, indicating the film’s end.
“This is it?! Thanos isn’t dead?!”
Many of the movie-goers mouthed hints of displeasure, yet their eyes shone a flushed excitement awaiting for the next part of the movie. Soon, they grabbed hold of their belonging and left the theater in rows one after another.
The high school youth sat on the seat he reserved days prior before watching the Avengers: Infinity War. The seat reserved was the best viewing seat available in the theater. It was a great view. Holding a half-empty bucket full of popcorn in hand, the high school youth watched the credit scene dismally, his soul fully immersed in the plotline.
“It was both binging through the Marvel films before coming here… but… did not Doctor Strange go over the different scenarios they could thread upon to attain success? Now Thanos is nowhere to be seen, but at least Iron Man is still okay. His battle performance on Titan Planet was hardcore.”
“Can’t believe Thanos wiped off half the universe… how can this be…? And… and Spider-Man is gone… Black Panther too… half of them are all gone!”
The youth looked down. Bitter sadness seemed ready to swallow him whole.
“They’re dead… half them… dead… will they come back to life? Sigh… I’d need to wait a year or two for the next release.” The youth sighed dismally, a little too frustrated as he shook his head.
As a fan of the Marvel Universe, a year’s worth of wait was a torturous suffering.
“Ugh…” The youth slowly stood from his seat.
“Ugh…” Lu Ming slowly stood from his seat. The rolling credits had already ended.
「 Do you wish to enter the world of Marvel? 」
「 Yes / No 」
Seeing the bolded texts appear on the black screen out of nowhere, the youth’s steps halted. He started at the black screen wide-eyed and with lips parted slightly. He was left in his own thoughts wondering whether was he saw cams from a sort of special 3D effects.
Yeah… this seemed possible…
What the fuck?! Is this another Easter Egg?!
The youth’s brows furrowed. Doubtful of what he’d seen, he turned his body and quickly looked all around. The other movie-goers had long left and only he was left in this empty place.
Is this a prank?! Are my friends trying to scare me to death?! Son of a dog, this isn’t funny you… you punks!
The youth scoffed, but nevertheless, he raised his finger and pressed on the right option the bolder texts provided.
Then, a tingling sensation hit the tip of his finger and quickly spread throughout his body.
Eh…? Is this for real?! Fuck!
He thought he was done for.
He’s going to die like this?
He can’t die!
Thinking of this, he almost vomited, but before he could do so, the youth blackened out and lost consciousness.
