Chapter 448: Chapter 448: The True Difficulty
An Elite Level 10 boss, with only over 1,600 Vitality Points, couldn’t withstand even a combination of strikes from Song Jian. Now, Song Jian, using the fused Crimson Fire Heart Ape Sword, even an ordinary attack could deal more than 300 points of damage. It was simply more than an Elite Level 10 Boss could bear.
“I’ll give you the item drops from this boss as a consultation fee,” Song Jian said to Zhao Jun with a slight smile.
Watching Song Jian disappear into the building, Zhao Jun was wide-eyed in disbelief.
“When did a Level 10 Elite Boss become so weak, or is that guy just too strong?” he mused.
Soon, Zhao Jun’s gaze landed on the items dropped by the Level 10 Elite Boss. His eyes lit up, and he quickly darted over to collect them.
“Bat Shadow Maze, it’s just a Level 10 dungeon. How could there possibly be demonized bats in there?” Song Jian furrowed his brows as he walked towards the source of the greatest energy fluctuations in the building.
“Magic Source Stones are only ever dropped by Level 30 demonized bats. This Level 10 dungeon…” he trailed off.
Song Jian soon arrived at an open room. On one wall of the room was a pale blue portal. A group of players was resting in front of the portal, eating and drinking. When they saw Song Jian approaching, they didn’t even stand up. They glanced at him briefly, then looked away.
These players were sitting in small clusters, forming several different teams. It seems they were preparing to raid the dungeon, or rest after exiting it.
“Hey, nice gear, man. What level are you? Wanna team up for this dungeon?” An armored player, shield in hand and shotgun slung on his back, sized up Song Jian with a gleam in his eye and eagerly waved him over.
While Song Jian had turned off the glow signifying the quality of his equipment, keen observers could still tell from the design and texture that they were top- tier. Those who looked closely could discern the quality and level of gear the other was wearing.
Song Jian looked over at the player with the silver shield who was showing off with a beaming face.
At this stage in the game, having a silver shield was highly sought after. As long as one could withstand a boss’s attack, they could easily form a team to raid a dungeon.
Song Jian smiled back at the man, shaking his head in polite refusal. These players were all around Level 10, and could, at most, only tackle the easier dungeons. Song Jian doubted he would even be able to enter such dungeons.
He walked over to the dungeon entrance, examining it closely:
The entry level for a simple difficulty dungeon was Level 8 to Level 12, normal difficulty was Level 10 to Level 15, hard was Level 15 to Level 21, and real difficulty was Level 22 to Level 28.
“It looks like I’ll have to try a real-difficulty dungeon. Besides, if there really are demonized bats in this dungeon, they could only be in a real-difficulty dungeon,” Song Jian pondered, standing before the dungeon gate.
Seeing Song Jian standing alone at the dungeon entrance, the resting players exchanged wary glances, looking at him with doubt.
“What’s this guy trying to do, solo-raid a dungeon?” someone muttered quietly.
“That’s impossible. Even the regular mobs in dungeons are Elite Level, far tougher than anything outside. Even a full party needs to be extra cautious inside or they could easily be wiped out…”
“Yeah, and there are loads of dangers in this game, with only one life. Safety first! I’ve never seen anyone do a solo raid before…”
“Look, he’s really going in…” someone whispered excitedly.
Indeed, Song Jian, standing in front of the dungeon gate, had straight away chosen the real difficulty. The originally pale blue portal began to glow crimson.
An incredibly intense, bloodthirsty aura emanated from the blood-red portal, causing the players lounging beside it to scatter like startled rabbits.
“Is he out of his mind? He’s going for real difficulty? That’s a Level 22 dungeon…”
“Level 22? Him… It’s Song Jian, number one on Level Rankings!” someone exclaimed.
Song Jian hadn’t bothered to hide his ranking. At Level 22, he was someone all players had to look up to.
They watched as Song Jian’s figure disappeared into the crimson dungeon gate. The red glow of the gate slowly faded back to blue, and everyone got excited again.
The news of Song Jian beginning to raid a real-difficulty dungeon quickly spread among the player base.
As soon as Song Jian entered the dungeon, he was hit by an intense wave of heat. A narrow stone pathway spread out before him. Looking around, he saw nothing but skeletal remains everywhere. Dark flames erupted from the cracks in the ground, burning everything they came into contact with.
Even the trees on either side of the path were ablaze with black flames. Everything was silent, with no living thing in sight.
“If you don’t have at least 50 fire resistance points, you wouldn’t even qualify to enter this place,” Song Jian thought to himself as he surveyed his surroundings.
An arrow marker appeared on the ground in front of him, indicating that he was to follow the path.
“Is this showing me how to complete the dungeon?” Song Jian pondered, following the arrow.
Soon, he arrived at a large pit filled with severed limbs and skeletal remains. A palpable tension filled the air from the pit.
” Creak creak creak’ ”
In the pit, something was churning at the bottom. Soon, a large mass rose up, the pile of skeletons on top sliding off to the side.
“Humans, you do not belong here!” A deep, raspy voice echoed from the pit as a skeleton wreathed in black flames emerged from the pile of bodies.
This was a humanoid skeleton, its body gleaming metallically. But there were a pair of broken wings on its back. The skeleton held out its right hand, and instantly, a gale of black wind swept into its palm from the pit, forming a large, two-meter-long battle-axe.
Song Jian’s eyes narrowed as he examined the monster before him.
“Skeleton Demon General, Level 20, Elite Level BOSS, Vitality Points: 2800/2800”
“Any living creature in my sightline will die!” roared the Skeleton Demon General as it lunged towards Song Jian.
