Chapter 392: Chapter 390: Could You Please Dance with
Your Arms? _1
“It is my honor to be able to contribute to the sect.”
Lu Xuan said with a smile.
Feng Yu, who was standing by, nodded in comprehension as he heard their conversation. It made sense why Fire Scale Child’s attitude towards them was so distinct when he first saw them.
“By the way, Junior Brother Lu, since we have brought you to the center of the
Blessed Land, please assist us with a conundrum we are facing.”
“Please tell me, Elder Brother Huo. I’ll do my best.”
Lu Xuan said earnestly.
“It’s also related to the mutant spiritual plants.”
Fire Scale Child, knowing that Lu Xuan was immersed in cultivating spiritual plants and spirit beasts, naturally wouldn’t askhim for help in any other area.
“We encountered a mass of strange spiritual plants in a passage in the cave. Numerous plants were intertwined with each other and seemed to form a bit of a formation. My fellow sect members and I have tried many ways, but we can’t solve them successfully.”
“Those spiritual plants are blocking a vital passage. If we can’t solve them seamlessly, we cannot enter that passage.”
Fire Scale Child said in a serious tone.
“Plants that group together to form a formation? Can spiritual plants really form a formation?”
Lu Xuan showed a surprised look, as with his proficiency in spiritual plants, this was his first encounter with such strange spiritual plants.
“Junior Brother Lu will understand when he sees it.”
Fire Scale Child took Lu Xuan to an open cave.
In the cave, there were more than thirty fellow cultivators of the Sky Sword Sect, thinking hard, meditating, or heatedly arguing about something.
“Come, Junior Brother Lu, let me introduce you.”
Fire Scale Child took Lu Xuan by the wrist and introduced him to a cold young man.
The young man had his eyes closed, with a vertical pupil in the middle of his forehead, looking at Lu Xuan without any showing any emotion.
“This is Elder Brother Wu Xie. This time, there are three True Disciples coming over. I, Senior Sister Sword Flawless, and the third one is Elder Brother Wu Xie.”
“Elder Brother Wu, this is Junior Brother Lu Xuan. The method to solve those parasitic spiritual plants was provided by him.”
Fire Scale Child enthusiastically introduced.
“Nice to meet you, Elder Brother Wu.”
Lu Xuan respectfully greeted. He has been practicing the “Breaking Illusion Eye Technique” for a while, had consumed several bizarre pupils from the Hundred Pupils’ Bizarre Tree, and was extremely familiar with the Void Nightmare Eye. With all these factors, he recognized the extraordinary character of the vertical pupil on the cold young man’s forehead at a glance.
“Junior Brother Lu, I’ve heard a lot about you. We’ll need your help in a while.”
“Of course.”
Lu Xuan hurriedly replied.
He glanced around the cave, greeted Senior Sister Sword Flawless, Zhang Rui Ping, and several other sect members who were resting in the camp.
No deaths had occurred among the Sky Sword Sect cultivators who stayed in the camp during the beast attack, thanks to the early warning. Only two people were accidentally injured, but luckily the injuries were not very serious.
“More than thirty cultivators in the Foundation Establishment stage, at least in the mid-term. More than ten are in the late-term of Foundation Establishment, with Fire Scale Child, Sword Flawless, and the three of them just a step away from the Nascent Soul Stage.”
“This is the strength of a great sect…”
Lu Xuan couldn’t help feeling emotional as he looked at his many fellow disciples in the cave.
Previously, in the Linyang Market, the entire market had only a handful of cultivators in the Foundation Establishment Stage, all of which were in the early stage of Foundation Establishment, with no hope of breakthrough.
In this cave, however, any single one of them could easily destroy the entire Linyang Market, which illustrated the terrifying power of a great sect. After resting for a while, Fire Scale Child and the others led Lu Xuan into a dark red passage.
The group swiftly traversed through the passage, soon arriving in front of a steep cliff.
Before them was a passageway entrance, from which a rich aura of spiritual energy emanated.
At the very center was a concave field, in which hundreds, if not thousands, of bizarre spirit plants grew.
The spirit plants were bluish-black in colour, tapering from the wide base to a thin top, looking like many severed arms stitched together boasting of well- defined veins that freely swayed below.
The distal branches slim and long, when spread it looked like peculiar fingers, when retracted it looked like knotted, strong blue-black knuckles standing out. “This is that pile of bizarre spirit plants, I’m going to attempt an attack on them, I ask for junior brother to pay close attention to the plants’ reactions.” Lu Xuan immediately nodded, his gaze fixed onto the group of bizarre spirit plants that resembled a jungle of arms below.
Fire Scale Child clenched his fists, firing out a flame-red long spear lancing violently towards the bizarre plants.
In Lu Xuan’s line of sight, the spirit plants near where the flame-red long spear landed instantly coalesced together, rapidly forming dense layers of immense blue-black netting.
The blue-black netting blocked the ferocious blow of the flame-red long spear, its residual momentum unabated, burning the bluish-black arm-like spirit plants at will.
A colossal arm dramatically reached out from within the netting, formed by dozens of coiled bluish-black spirit plants. It wound around the center of the flame-red long spear, seizing it and instantly snapping it in two.
“This is really quite interesting.”
Murmured Lu Xuan.
After firing a flame-red long spear, Fire Scale Child, using a red cloud as transport, approached the numerous well-knotted blue-black spirit plants. Hundreds of blue-black spirit plants around him seemed to sense his proximity and started to attack or smash, launching an onslaught from all directions towards Fire Scale Child, the coordination among them was so natural and smooth that they seemed indivisible.
Fire Scale Child only wanted to show Lu Xuan the odd nature of the spirit plants, and didn’t stick around much longer, quickly returning to the dark red passage.
“As you can see junior brother Lu, these arm-like spirit plants below can merge together as if they were a single entity; when confronted with a formidable enemy, they automatically amass the strength of the surrounding comrades to resist the enemy.”
“In order to pass through this area smoothly, there are only two methods, one is to rely on absolute strength, relentlessly plowing through and dealing with them in a simple brutish way.”
“The other is to find their weaknesses or peculiarities, devise a corresponding strategy and this way easily eliminate these mutant spirit plants.” The voice echoed in a serious tone from Wu Xie, who stood at a distance with his eyes closed, but who was acutely aware of everything happening below. Lu Xuan nodded, agreeing that these peculiar spirit plants were, as Fire Scale Child had described, seeming to coalesce with the surrounding comrades into a formation, their transformations numerous and seamless, appearing invulnerable.
“Could you send multiple sect members to simultaneously attack these bizarre spirit plants and see if they will reveal weaknesses under frequent attacks?” He pondered for a moment, and then proposed.
“We have tried that approach, but it had no effect.”
“The coordination between the spirit plants is smoother and more natural than we initially thought, with their rapid reaction speed and ease at switching positions and forms, they are still very difficult to handle.”
Fire Scale Child added as he moved closer.
“I will attempt it myself to better understand these mutant spirit plants.”
“Be careful, junior brother.”
Accompanied by the concerned words from Wu Xie, Lu Xuan stepped to the edge of the cliff, where the nearest bluish-black branch was less than ten meters away.
The massive bluish-black branches wildly waved about, as if provoking Lu Xuan.
“Well, such a welcome for me.”
Lu Xuan tilted his head to look to the other side.
“Spectators to the right, could you wave your arms?”
As his gaze fell on them, the blue-blackbranches immediately reacted, each plant waving its stems wildly, strangely appearing coordinated and natural within its aberrance.
