Chapter 414: Chapter 414 Sent to the Wrong Person_1
“Hello, Manager!”
Seeing the manager approach, Lewis Leocadia quickly stood up and politely extended his hand.
But the manager simply ignored him and instead asked bluntly, “Was it you who smashed the electric bicycle at the door!”
Hearing Julius Reed’s instructions, the manager promptly arranged for the Head of Security to guard the electric bike.
Since it was something his boss had put him in charge of, he had to handle it well; otherwise, he’d lose his job sooner or later.
But despite the Security Chief leading people to search for quite a while, they found no trace of the electric bike.
Only after checking the surveillance, they discovered the electric bike had been shattered by a Mercedes, its wheels completely detached.
What were they supposed to do now?
Urgently, the manager took his team to review the surveillance footage and, after identifying the Mercedes driver, found out that the driver was in the same private room as his own boss.
This was a tricky situation, so he sent someone with a bottle of red wine, which was actually just a discreet way to deliver a note asking whether to handle the situation or let it be.
If Julius Reed shook his head, they would drop the matter.
After all, it was his boss’s friend who was involved; he’d be happy to stay out of it.
But if the incident was to be handled as usual, he’d have to put in all the effort he could muster!
He’d give that Mercedes driver a real thrashing!
When Julius Reed took the red wine, he nodded, and the waiter even repeated the insulting words Lewis Leocadia had said upon returning.
This only strengthened the manager’s determination to deal with Lewis Leocadia!
Daring to oppose his own boss, wasn’t that just asking for trouble?
Thereupon, he stormed up with a group of security guards, all bluster and righteous indignation.
When he heard about the electric bike, Lewis Leocadia didn’t immediately grasp what was meant and asked with some confusion, “What electric bike?”
“When you were parking, you smashed the electric bike that was behind you!” the manager reiterated.
“Oh! You mean that piece of junk owned by that broke loser? What about it?” Lewis Leocadia slapped his forehead as he recalled the incident.
It seemed they were talking about the electric bike Julius Reed used for deliveries, which he had wrecked while parking.
“Broke loser?”
The manager was furious, cursing silently in his head, “Idiot.”
That was the owner of the restaurant. Although he didn’t know the exact background, he had heard something from Ovidiu Cook’s subordinate when the latter was drunk.
The restaurant had been a gift to the new owner from Ovidiu Cook, who didn’t ask for a dime and continued to pay the staff on behalf of the new owner.
All expenses were charged to Titan Group’s accounts, while all profits went straight to the new owner’s pocket.
Essentially, it was like giving away money by gifting the restaurant and covering the expenses.
Who was Ovidiu Cook?
The richest man in Gonzalez City!
Could someone who compelled the wealthiest man in Gonzalez City to act in such a manner be ordinary?
Yet, here was this fool, calling his own boss a broke loser, and it was clear to the manager that it was his time to shine.
Seeing the manager appear somewhat astonished, he pointed at Julius Reed and said, “That’s the owner of the broke bike, my brother-in-law. So what?”
“Brother-in-law?”
The manager was even more incredulous—it was family!
Didn’t this relative know how powerful his own boss was?
Yet here he was, disdainfully calling him a loser with every word.
“I don’t care whose bike it is. If it’s parked at our Roosevelt Western Restaurant, it’s under our protection! You forcefully smashing that electric bike is against the rules of our restaurant!” exclaimed the manager loudly.
“What are you doing! Call your boss here! A mere manager daring to make a commotion like this! Do you know where you are!” Bryson Ridge stood up, looking impatiently at the restaurant manager and pointing at the ground, “This is the Vaughn Danvers room! The biggest private room upstairs! Reserved by your boss especially for us. And here you are, a bunch of stinking shrimps, disturbing us during our meal? Get out!”
At this moment, she actually started to believe the lies Lewis Leocadia had told.
Moreover, Bryson Ridge figured that the manager probably didn’t know whether they truly knew the boss or not. If they sought the boss’s input over this matter, they’d likely get scolded.
So that’s why she dared to speak like that.
“Reserved for you?”
The manager couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity; this reservation was clearly intended for his girlfriend’s birthday celebration. Only when his boss happened to come by and need a table had he offered this one instead.
How had it suddenly turned into something reserved for them?
As for knowing his boss, that was even more ludicrous!
Julius Reed was right there, called a broke loser by them, and yet they had the nerve to claim they knew his boss.
It was downright ridiculous!
“Nonsense! If it wasn’t for your boss holding this spot for us, how could there be such a large Vaughn Danvers Room available during prime dining hours?”
Lewis Leocadia straightened his back at this moment, pointing towards the door, “Today I’m in a good mood, get lost! If you dare stay here, I will have your boss fire all of you!”
Not only the manager, but the restaurant security guards all laughed at this.
Many of them hadn’t even seen the boss before; everything in the restaurant was managed by the manager.
This guy, claiming to be a friend of their boss, was utterly joking.
“What are you laughing about?”
Lewis Leocadia, seeing no fear in the people in front of him and even hearing them laugh, grew even more irate.
He pulled out his phone, pretending to make a call: “I’m giving you one last chance! Get lost! Otherwise, you’ll have to face the consequences!”
But instead of being intimidated, the manager crossed his arms and watched Lewis Leocadia with a cold sneer, “Go ahead and call! I’m listening right here!”
He wanted to see what new, foolish act the youth could come up with.
But Lewis Leocadia didn’t know the restaurant owner’s phone number, and he was extremely embarrassed at that moment.
“What do you think you’re doing! To treat your boss’s friend like this, do you no longer want your jobs? A bunch of stinking security guards, dogs that watch the door, daring to run wild here!”
Bryson Ridge cursed them furiously like a fishwife.
Her curses turned the security guards’ faces dark collectively.
“What did you say?”
The manager confronted Bryson Ridge and asked in a deep voice.
He had worked with these security guards for many years, and they usually called each other brothers.
But this woman dared to call his brothers dogs!
“I said you bunch of stinking laborers better get out of here, don’t be an eyesore!”
Bryson Ridge shouted eyes wide open.
Slap!
The manager slapped her, flipping Bryson Ridge over onto the table, “Does your mouth eat shit? Haven’t you learned to respect people?”
After hitting her, the manager glanced over at Julius Reed and seeing no reaction from his boss, he was relieved.
“You dare to hit me! You stinking laborer…”
Slap!
The manager slapped her again.
“What are you trying to do!”
Lewis Leocadia grabbed a wine bottle from the table and held it high, shouting, “This wine was a gift from your boss to me, you dare to bully a friend of your boss, have you gone mad?”
This bottle was his lifeline.
How could an ordinary person gift such expensive wine right off the bat?
Genuine and costly, worth at least a hundred thousand yuan.
“Ha! Who said this wine was a gift?”
The manager snatched the bottle and shook it, discovering it was empty.
“If it wasn’t for me, how would it have been delivered here?”
Lewis Leocadia asked somewhat sheepishly.
“It was delivered by mistake! Eighteen thousand, you drank it so you have to pay!”
The manager tossed the bottle away, approached Lewis Leocadia, and grabbed his throat with one hand.
