Chapter 355: Chapter 324: Teachings_1
“Could it be that you’re not instructing me rightly?” Nan Peiyao protested.
“Why don’t you try finding someone else.” Xu Mu retorted indifferently.
“…”
Nan Peiyao was at a loss for words.
If I could find someone else, I wouldn’t be asking your help!
“Fine! Let’s try again!” Nan Peiyao said, in an angry huff.
“Not happening! I’m tired today, let’s resume tomorrow!”
Xu Mu declared, effectively showing her out.
“What do you mean tomorrow? You’ve only been teaching for an hour!” Nan Peiyao complained passionately.
This guy is just getting lazier day by day. He used to teach all day without complaining, and now he whines after teaching just for an hour in three days.
“Who’s fault is it that you’re a slow learner! Don’t you know how energy-consuming it is to teach slow learners?” Xu Mu said lazily.
“I… you…”
Nan Peiyao clenched her teeth, wishing she could give Xu Mu a thorough bashing.
“Are you of the opinion that I’m too nice to you, or that I wouldn’t dare to deal with you? Believe it or not…”
“Cough! Cough! I’m so tired! I can barely breathe!”
After saying that, Xu Mu played dead, ignoring all of Nan Peiyao’s attempts to rouse him. Annoyed to the point of near desperation, Nan Peiyao had no choice but to leave in a huff.
Once she left, Xu Mu suddenly sat up straight, looking at her retreating figure with a strange expression.
“How did this naive girl ever survive till now!”
Xu Mu wondered to himself.
After more than half a year of association, he could see that aside from her stubborn exterior, she was really quite soft at heart: no wonder she was always bullied by that other fellow cultivator.
But then again, considering her isolated location and lofty job position which primarily involved contact with ordinary people, her naive spirit was understandable.
Even the other female cultivator, wasn’t really that much more of an expert, it was simply a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
This was mostly due to her circumstances. She wasn’t actually dim-witted.
“Perhaps this also constitutes a form of happiness!”
Xu Mu laughed self-deprecatingly, deciding to no longer get involved.
As they say, the leopard cannot change its spots. He couldn’t possibly change her personality in a short time.
He had been teaching her alchemy for so long, and when he leaves he will leave her with some resources. That would be enough to repay her for the favor she did by saving his life.
Even if her intentions were not the best, he owed her because her actions effectively saved his life.
Now that his injuries were almost completely healed, all that was left was—
“Big Brother, are you going to teach me today?”
Tian Tian poked his head in and asked shyly.
“Sure thing!” Xu Mu laughed in response.
“That’s great!”
Tian Tian was so excited he nearly leapt up.
The two of them left the courtyard and found a deserted area nearby. Under Xu Mu’s guidance, Tian Tian began practicing his swordsmanship with a wooden rod in his hand.
This set of swordsmanship was the Thunderbolt Sword Skill which Xu Mu once practiced. He had simplified it according to Tian Tian’s abilities.
Since they were in Sea Race’s territory, he couldn’t teach him Qi Cultivation, hence, teaching him this sword skill was a way of repaying their family’s kindness.
Although continuous practice wouldn’t make him a master, it wasn’t difficult for it to ensure robust health and a long life.
“Focus on your breathing…move a bit faster…attitude! Pay attention to your attitude; when your mind is in harmony, results are doubled…”
Xu Mu occasionally corrected Sanya’s mistakes. When we would stop occasionally, he would use spiritual power to clear Sanya’s meridians and alleviate his fatigue.
Considering his limited time, he couldn’t allow Sanya to grow at a slow pace and had to use this method to speed up his training.
Perhaps because of this, Tian Tian, who was originally only five or six years old, had grown significantly in half a year, equivalent to the height of ten-year-old children in the village.
His swordsmanship had naturally made a substantial improvement and was no problem in dealing with several adults.
“Remember what I told you, unless your life is in danger, do not let others know that you know swordsmanship!” Xu Mu admonished another time.
“I know! Big Brother, don’t worry!” Tian Tian assured him.
“That’s good! Go and play!”
Xu Mu waved him off and turned to head back towards the courtyard. Tian Tian then ran towards the beach. He and his friends had agreed to catch jumping fish by the beach.
…
The sea roared near the coast!
A group of more than ten children and teenagers, carrying wicker baskets on their backs, were running around joyfully on the seashore.
One of the boys, with his dark skin and sturdy figure, saw Tian Tian running from the island, and he waved his arm and shouted loudly, “Tian Tian! Why are you so slow? We’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
Upon hearing this from the dark-skinned boy, everyone looked over.
“Hehe! I was held up by something!” Tian Tian laughed a little awkwardly.
“Didn’t you go hanging out with your big brother again?”
“Hehe!”
Tian Tian scratched his head, grinned sheepishly, neither admitting nor denying.
“You guys have such an age gap, what’s so fun about hanging out with him? And he’s an outsider! My mom says outsiders are never good people!”
“Yeah, yeah! They say outsiders eat children!”
The group of kid friends chirped in.
“Big Brother is a good person! He…” Tian Tian couldn’t finish his sentence, and then changed the subject suddenly, “Hurry up and catch the fish, they’re going to swim away!”
“Right, right! Catch the fish, catch the fish!”
The minds of the teenagers were simple, they quickly forgot about Tian Tian’s matter, and each of them joyfully resumed their playtime.
Because of the watchful care of the Sea Race, the island didn’t lack food, so for these youngsters, catching fish was more for fun.
Unnoticed to them, the sea level started to rise and all the youngsters had caught a lot of fish. It was time for them to go back.
“What is that?”
Someone suddenly pointed into the sea and screamed. All of the children immediately stopped and looked.
They saw a green shadow on the sea surface, bobbing up and down, continuously approaching the coast.
“It looks like a crab?”
One keen-eyed teenager tentatively asked.
The reason why he was unsure was because the crab looked astonishingly large.
While everyone stood stunned, the green figure had reached the shore. With a splash, a giant green crab, towering over two people, emerged from the water.
Seeing the children on the shore, the crab’s eight huge pincers moved swiftly, creating waves as it rushed toward them.
Its massive body and terrifyingly large pincers terrified the group of teenagers. Their faces turned white and their limbs fell weak. With their screaming and shouting, they tumbled and crawled to escape.
“It’s a monster beast! A monster beast!”
The teenagers had never seen a monster beast before. However, they had heard about them from their elders and couldn’t think of anything else this gigantic crab could be, except for a monster beast.
“Waaaah! Daddy! Mommy!”
A little girl, about four or five years old, paralyzed by fear, collapsed on the ground and started to cry.
Seeing this, Tian Tian, who was running outward, abruptly stopped and turned around. He ran to the girl, picked her up, and started to run again.
However, due to the girl’s hold up and the time wasted circling back, the giant crab was closing up on both of them.
“Blackie! Run! I’ll distract it!”
Because he had learned swordsmanship, Tian Tian was braver than the average teenager. This just goes to prove that knowledge is power.
He put down the girl from his hands, picked up a stone, and threw it towards the giant crab. He then started running in a different direction.
“Gadagada!”
The giant crab made a strange noise, furious, it chased Tian Tian.
“Quickly, let the Divine Envoy know!”
