1846 To Snow Territory 4
Gu Chaoyan was not surprised by the turn of events. She had already dismissed all the maids from Snow Territory, so there was no need to panic.
After a thoughtful conversation with Huang Fu, Gu Chaoyan gained further insights into his abilities. She discovered that he possessed the power to traverse through space.
Upon seeing Huang Fu, Gu Chaoyan inquired softly, “How are Huaijin and the others? Have they found a safe place outside of Snow Territory?”
Huang Fu’s cheerful countenance suddenly grew grim.
He disliked it when she incessantly mentioned Huaijin in his presence.
“They have been well-settled outside the city, thanks to your medicinal skills. Don’t fret, you’re in a more perilous situation than they are. Instead of worrying about others, you should focus on your own safety when you have the chance,” snapped Huang Fu.
Gu Chaoyan nodded in acknowledgment.
She was relieved to know that they were all secure.
Ever since she arrived in Snow Territory, they were the only ones she had been concerned about.
Just as Huang Fu was about to reveal details about the Fire Lotus flower, an unforeseen incident unfolded outside. In response, Huang Fu promptly retreated to the space.
It was not advisable for him to expose himself outside, especially considering that many people in Snow Territory were familiar with his face. If he were spotted here, it would undoubtedly lead to trouble.
As soon as Huang Fu departed, the door swung open.
A maid standing outside respectfully greeted a newcomer.
It was Ouyang Mingjing.
For some unknown reason, he had returned to the palace he had recently departed from.
Gu Chaoyan had no clue about his intentions. She simply sat there silently.
Ouyang Mingjing had come back.
The words of the Elder Man had deeply wounded him. While he had considered using the Fire Lotus flower as a means to manipulate her, the Elder Man’s proposition was crystal clear—only after they were married and she became pregnant could they obtain the Fire Lotus flower.
Even the Elder Man recognized that he lacked the power to subdue the Phoenix Girl.
That was the only way to keep her.
But that was a method he refused to employ, as it struck a blow to his self-esteem.
Hence…
He had returned.
He believed that he could strive harder to win her over, rather than relying on the so-called child.
He hadn’t reached such a pitiful state just yet.
The Phoenix Girl treated him with utmost tenderness whenever he assisted her in capturing monsters.
Over the past few days, he had made certain decisions, but he was convinced that he could make amends through other means.
For instance…
He had been treating her better lately.
Perhaps she would change her mind and choose to stay, especially when the King of the Saint Divine Land was in jeopardy and the people of Snow Territory held her in such high regard.
When that time came, he would be able to hold his head high.
He had returned.
A more determined and resolute expression adorned his face.
“Elder Man and Longqing will oversee the affairs within the city. Since you’re still new here, you’re probably not accustomed to this place. I currently have some free time, so I can show you around and introduce you to Snow Territory—a place entirely distinct from the Saint Divine Land,” he declared.
