Chapter 619: Extra 032 Why Not Share Good Stuff? (Second Update)
“What’s the difference who I sell it to?!” Wan Quan exclaimed, tightly gripping Mu Cidian’s hand.
Mu Cidian forcefully pulled his hand away from Wan Quan, “Enough! This is truly our last meal together. Don’t seek me out anymore, I won’t respond to your calls or messages!”
“Mu Cidian, don’t you want money? This woman can offer you more money than Xin Zaozao. Isn’t it 200,000 a month? If you perform well, she can offer you 500,000!”
“Am I even your son?” Mu Cidian asked her, his tone biting.
“If you weren’t my son, I’d have killed you by now! I’m only looking out for your best interests, I don’t want Xin Zaozao to trample all over you.”
“So, it’s acceptable for any woman other than Xin Zaozao to trample me, is it?”
“Isn’t this the path you chose? I respect your choice, so why can’t you appreciate my good intentions?”
“You don’t have good intentions. You just don’t want me to have any contact with Xin Zaozao, you can’t stand seeing me with her. Even worse, you can’t stand the thought of us being left penniless if we broke up.”
“Mu Cidian!” anger consuming Wan Quan to the point of trembling.
She went home and thought about it for a couple of days.
Yes.
Everything Mu Cidian had just said was on the mark.
But she believes that she is helping him by giving him a choice, now that he’s chosen his path!
He could be kept by any woman, but in no case should it be Xin Zaozao.
That’s why she thought of Jenny, whom she had a previous relationship with. Jenny has always loved young men and has kept many in her company, she immediately agreed at Wan Quan’s suggestion. It seemed she had had her eyes on her son for quite some time.
She’d rather see Mu Cidian accompany an older woman like this than accept him following that slut, Xin Zaozao.
“Mom, let’s end our relationship here!” Mu Cidian didn’t want to say any more.
As expected.
His mother would drain him of everything: all of his emotions.
All these years he’d been in jail, he thought she would have learned her lesson and realized that the happiest thing for the two of them as mother and son would be to live peacefully together and let go of all of those resentments from the past. Just living their own lives.
He had been far too naive.
There was nothing that could resolve the grudges and resentments that Wan Quan had harbored all her life.
He didn’t have the ability.
He stood up to leave.
“Mu Cidian.” Wan Quan held onto him tightly.
Mu Cidian clenched his teeth.
At the moment he was about to push her away.
Xin Zaozao and another woman appeared in front of them, it seemed they were here for a meal as well.
Just having arrived, the waiter was still politely ushering them in.
Xin Zaozao’s eyes narrowed.
Her face always changes drastically whenever she sees Wan Quan.
The woman, Lina, who was accompanying Xin Zaozao also stopped when she sensed something amiss and looked at the man and the woman before her.
The man in front of her looked somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t quite remember who he was.
Upon seeing Xin Zaozao, Wan Quan’s face also changed.
She abruptly pulled Mu Cidian behind her and confronted Xin Zaozao, “What are you doing here?!”
Xin Zaozao sneered, “Believe it or not, with one word, both you and your son will be forced to leave this place in utter disgrace.”
“You wretched Xin Zaozao, how dare you keep haunting us!”
Xin Zaozao coldly stared at Wan Quan.
Lina’s face also shifted slightly, “Who is she?”
Xin Zaozao coerced a smile at Lina, “Just a lunatic.”
“Xin Zaozao, you slut! who are you calling crazy?” Wan Quan was so incensed she wanted to assault Xin Zaozao on the spot.
Mu Cidian quickly held back Wan Quan.
Xin Zaozao told Lina, “I’m sorry, there is some private matter I need to deal with, please go ahead into the private room and wait for me. I’ll be there shortly.”
Lina glanced at Wan Quan, accustomed to the need for face-saving in business, she nodded and prepared to leave.
“Are you Xin Zaozao’s client?” Wan Quan intercepted Lina.
Looking down her nose at Wan Quan, Lina asked, “What’s it to you?”
“I just want to warn you about what a despicable woman Xin Zaozao is. She’s ruthless and vicious, climbed up to her current position solely on her body. If you cooperate with her, you’ll invite misfortune, you know?!”
“Wan Quan.” Jenny, who had been sitting at the dining table, quickly rose and held her back, truly afraid she would make a scene here and embarrass herself. She said, “Enough, don’t make a scene here.”
“How exactly am I making a scene? I’m just stating the facts.” Wan Quan snapped harshly at Jenny, “Don’t you know what kind of person Xin Zaozao is?”
“What rubbish are you spouting now?” Jenny still felt somewhat apprehensive about Xin Zaozao, she quickly addressed her, “Chairwoman Xin, my apologies. she may have suffered some mental disorders from the stress over the years, don’t bother arguing with her. I merely invited her for a meal out of pity, I had no idea she would behave like this. It’s really embarrassing, I’ll take her away immediately.”
Xin Zaozao glanced at Jenny and sneered at Wan Quan. In front of Lina, she did not want to engage in a shameless quarrel with Wan Quan.
She prepared to leave.
“Jenny, aren’t you looking to keep Mu Cidian?” Wan Quan purposely spoke loudly, “500,000 per month, that’s much more generous than certain people.”
“Wan Quan, what nonsense are you talking about?” Jenny’s face turned pale.
“What nonsense? Isn’t that your objective tonight? You said that my son is handsome, with a great body, and that you’ve been interested in him for a long time. You’ve wanted to keep him all this time, and even said that you wanted to take him home tonight. Have you forgotten what you just said a while ago?”
“Wan Quan.” Right now, Jenny wished she could strangle this woman dead.
She must have been insane to believe Wan Quan and consider keeping her son.
She should have known that this woman had already gone mad after all she’d been through.
“Jenny, my son’s quite popular. Xin Zaozao is currently keeping him. Isn’t that right, Xin Zaozao?” Wan Quan looked at Xin Zaozao with sarcasm.
In front of all these people, it would be quite embarrassing to disclose that Xin Zaozao is keeping a man.
Xin Zaozao’s face darkened.
“What’s the matter, you did it but can’t admit it? Can’t admit how much of a slut you are in private? Look, my son’s body has been marked up, that’s your handy work, isn’t it? These are masterpieces of your sluttish behavior…”
“Yes, that’s true.” Xin Zaozao admitted it outright, “Your son begged me on his knees to keep him, I just took him in because I pitied him.”
“Xin Zaozao, you are shameless! Even playing with men is taken for granted!” Wan Quan cursed viciously.
“Who among us isn’t guilty of playing games? Wan Quan, when you had money, didn’t you indulge more than most? Or do you want me to dig out those pictures of your affairs and show them off to everyone?” Xin Zaozao quipped sarcastically.
Wan Quan was so furious that her body shook with rage.
Xin Zaozao appeared much more composed, “Having played too much in the past, now it’s your turn to face retribution, with your own son being played.”
“Xin Zaozao, you cheap wench!”
“Madam Wang, I presume,” Xin Zaozao’s eyes turned to the older woman sitting next to her.
Jenny quickly interjected, “Call me Jenny, please. Our firm is currently bidding on a new project. I hope Chairman Xin will show some favoritism towards Wang’s company.”
Xin Zaozao chuckled, “Let’s not talk business in private.”
“Indeed, indeed.”
“Let me tell you about Mu Cidian,” Xin Zaozao turned to Jenny, “I’m almost bored with him, if you’re interested, go ahead. But paying 500,000 a month is overpraising him. However, everyone has different tastes, and who knows, you might just be the person who appreciates his type – it’ll be money well spent.”
“Chairman Xin, you must be joking. How could I possibly afford to keep such a young lad? It’s all a misunderstanding…”
“Whether it is or not, I’m just making my position clear. There’s no need to consider me. After all, we’re all just playing.”
“Indeed, indeed.”
“Please enjoy your meal, I won’t bother you any longer,” Xin Zaozao smirked courteously, “though, keep your mad dog on a leash. It seems prone to biting anyone it sees.”
“Xin Zaozao, who are you calling a mad dog, you motherless bitch…”
Xin Zaozao ignored Wan Quan, turning around to walk off with a smile at Lina, “Let’s go. Don’t let an insignificant person ruin your mood.”
Lina chuckled and left with Xin Zaozao.
Xin Zaozao glanced at Mu Cidian as they left the scene.
He looked familiar somehow.
After Xin Zaozao and Lina had left, Jenny couldn’t hold back anymore.
She shouted at Wan Quan, “Are you out of your mind? You dare to provoke Xin Zaozao? Do you have any idea of her standing in Jin City right now, or who backs her up? Song Zhizhi, the wife of Ji Baijian from Commercial Management, is her confidante. Everyone in the business world now defers to her, she practically owns Jin City. Are you trying to get me killed!”
Wan Quan was still boiling with rage and couldn’t utter a word.
“You’ve doomed me!” Jenny picked up her bag and stormed off.
“Hey, you’re just going to walk out? Weren’t you sponsoring my son?” Wan Quan grabbed Jenny’s arm.
“Enough! Do you think I would dare to keep Xin Zaozao’s man? If you want to improve your life, you’d better make sure your son pleases Xin Zaozao.” Jenny shrugged off Wan Quan, “Don’t contact me again and don’t think I’ll help you find someone to keep your son. He belongs to Xin Zaozao now; nobody would dare take him.”
Initially, Wan Quan had said to Jenny that if she found Mu Cidian appealing, she could introduce him to other women to take care of him. Jenny had agreed at the time.
Now, given ten times the courage, she would not dare to keep Mu Cidian.
Jenny left irately.
Wan Quan watched as Jenny left, her face becoming grim. In a fit of rage, she pushed Mu Cidian away.
How great is Xin Zaozao now?
What’s so great about Xin Zaozao now?
She’s just a cheap woman.
A cheap woman.
Mu Cidian had also calmed down by now.
Upon seeing Xin Zaozao, he could only stay calm.
He didn’t want to make things worse because of Wan Quan.
So he had to suppress all his emotions.
He said, “Tonight is the last time, I won’t see you again.”
“What do you mean?” Wan Quan glared at Mu Cidian.
“I mean exactly what I said.”
“Are you trying to break off from being my son?”
“Yes.”
“Mu Cidian. Do you really think you can make Xin Zaozao happy? Do you really think she likes you? She’s only using you to humiliate you. Didn’t you hear her earlier? She doesn’t care about you, she can throw you to anyone casually. Don’t think you can rely on her forever!” Wan Quan fumed.
“That’s my business. As for you, fend for yourself.” Having said that, Mu Cidian walked off.
“Mu Cidian, you stop right there!” Wan Quan shouted at Mu Cidian’s retreating figure.
Mu Cidian didn’t even pause.
“If you leave like this today, I swear I’ll never see you again, even if I die!”
So be it then.
He walked away without a backward glance.
Wan Quan knocked everything off the table in a fit of rage.
The restaurant staff hurried over.
Wan Quan, acting like a madwoman, resisted, and had to be forcefully removed from the restaurant and was permanently banned.
Wan Quan, like a madwoman, stood at the entrance of the restaurant, shouting and making a scene, until she was eventually chased away by security.
Xin Zaozao and Lina were sitting by a floor-to-ceiling window in a private room, and looking down they could see Wan Quan making a fool of herself.
Lina followed Xin Zaozao’s gaze and looked down.
She said, “It seems like this woman holds a grudge against you.”
Xin Zaozao retracted her gaze, “She’s just a dog that’s lost its home.”
“Then why are you keeping her son?”
“To humiliate her.”
“I just remembered who her son is,” Lina looked at Xin Zaozao.
Xin Zaozao met her gaze.
“The waiter who served us drinks that night. I thought he was quite good-looking then, but shockingly thin. Today, he looked much more robust.”
Xin Zaozao didn’t respond.
“With such a catch at your disposal, how come you didn’t share with me?” Lina raised an eyebrow in feigned indignation.
