“Sh*t, can we wait to fight until after I eat?”
After the white-robed youth’s cry, those accompanying him all started to grow angry and curse when they realized what was going on. Some even called Fang Xing words such as “pervert” and “lecher” while activating their weapons and spells towards him. Their battle prowess wasn’t weak at all, and when some of them released their aura, it was very stable and clearly within the Golden Core Stage. Fang Xing didn’t even manage to get his hands on the roasted meat before he was pushed away.
Fang Xing had no choice but to defend himself. He raised a barrier with a flick of a finger to block the attacks of numerous Flying Swords and spells, and at the same time, he jumped and threw himself towards the white-robed youth like a ghost. It was actually one of his best tricks— whenever someone wanted to attack him, he’d always go and capture the one who was most important. This was something his first uncle taught him: if you wanted to capture your enemies, you had to capture their leader first.
However, despite his great plan and the fact the white-robed youth only seemed to be in late Foundation Stage—more than easy enough for Fang Xing to deal with—the lack of food in Fang Xing’s stomach caused his legs to soften and his speed to slow. When he tried to retaliate, his body quivered and he was assaulted by dizziness, causing his movements to be far more sluggish.
“Ahh! Go away!”
When the white-robed youth saw a naked person rushing towards him, he didn’t even manage to say much before he simply collapsed and covered his eyes without defending himself. A nearby Golden Core was terrified when he noticed Fang Xing was about to grab the young master, and he shouted, “Be careful Young Master” before his body flickered and he instantly arrived in front of Fang Xing. The Golden Core landed a slap, causing Fang Xing to let out a loud cry as he was slammed into the ground.
“Where… where exactly did a wild monkey like him come from? Who’d dare attack our young master like this?” One of the people accompanying the young master looked towards Fang Xing with a worried expression, but he determined this guy was definitely deceased so he stopped paying attention and looked towards the white-robed youth instead. To think, a princess had been offended by such a person despite being under the protection of so many people. It was already wrong for an innocent young girl to see such a thing, yet she’d nearly falling into their hands as well….
When all was said and done, if this managed to reach the ears of their clan master, it was likely nobody here would be able to escape heavy punishment! When he thought about it, he actually started to feel some regret; it hadn’t been good that this person had died so quickly, because if they brought him back to the clan alive for questioning—no matter whether he was an assassin or a demon—the largest share of the clan master’s anger would fall upon him instead.
“What… what was that thing just now? Is it dead?” the white-robed youth asked in a shaky voice. There was still concern over the matter and they’d lost their original coldness and pride.
“Please rest assured, Young Master, this person is sure to be dead!” the middle-aged man in the pale yellow clothes replied in a deep voice. He was very confident; not only had he struck with his full power, this person had also been hit by so many weapons and spells. Not even he—an early-stage Golden Core—would be able to take it well under the same circumstances, let alone a monster who didn’t seem to have the aura of a Golden Core whatsoever.
Before they’d even finished speaking, however, a sad and pitiful voice rose up from the cloud of dust. “I’m only asking for some roasted meat. If you didn’t want to give me any, you could have just said so; was there any need to be so vicious?”
When the cloud of dust finally dispersed, everyone saw that a large pit had been made in the ground, and in the center was a splayed out person who was completely burnt with smoke rising up from his body. He looked extremely miserable, and he cried while slowly sitting up with great effort. Although the attacks he received would have left even Golden Cores fearful, it looked as though nothing important had been injured….
“Ahh!” The white-robed youth’s expression fell and they took a few steps back while loudly shouting, “He’s still not dead. Kill him, hurry and kill him…!” The accompanying men were surprised by this as well, and they didn’t give it much thought before moving to attack once more.
“Wait.” The pale-yellow-robed cultivator instead came up to stop them. “Young Master, where this person came from is a mystery. He might be the spy of another clan. There’s no rush to kill him yet; let’s capture and interrogate him about where he came from first….”
The monster in the pit quickly agreed. “Yes, yes. Capture first, then question after feeding….”
The monster in the pit was of course Fang Xing, and he was quite speechless right now; he’d only wanted a piece of meat, so was there really the need to be so angry? He hadn’t worn any clothes, but what was so embarrassing when it was all men? Fortunately, even though they sent so many vicious attacks the moment they saw him, his cultivation level was at full mastery of Foundation Stage and his physique was extremely sturdy, otherwise he would have been killed by that final blow earlier.
He was already feeling quite angry at them, but his body was just too weak and every movement would make him so dizzy he couldn’t attack. He’d also been encircled by several dozen men, three of whom were Golden Cores—enough to leave someone so terrified they would not dare to flee. The only thing he could do was try to swindle some food first; he’d try to figure out how to avenge himself once he had food in his stomach and energy in his body.
The fear in the young master’s face hadn’t disappeared yet, and they didn’t even think it over before waving their hand. “Hurry and seize him!”
The yellow-robed cultivator gave an order and someone quickly rushed forward. Fang Xing was pushed to the ground and received a bit of a beating before he was locked up in a large cage designed to secure peril beasts. The cage itself was a spirit treasure crafted from Refined Iron and carved with restrictive spells to prevent any escape, and although it was originally a dozen feet long, its size could be freely changed with a thought. Once Fang Xing was locked inside, it shrank in size until it was only a little taller than Fang Xing when seated, not even offering him any space to stretch his legs. Furthermore, some people were worried his naked state would frighten the young master, so they threw him a tattered rag to hide his body.
“It’s time to give me some food, right?” Fang Xing sat well-behaved in the cage while looking at the roasted meat on the campfire. ‘It’s all f*cking burnt now!’
“You want something to eat?” The yellow-clothed cultivator sneered before ordering someone to get a piece of meat to give to him inside the cage.
Fang Xing’s excitement was so great he cupped his hands towards the yellow-robed cultivator with a wide grin, and even the hatred he’d felt after receiving that earlier blow was forgotten. However, before the meat was passed over, a white shadow suddenly moved forward and a single kick sent the person delivering the meat to the side. The meat fell onto the ground and was stepped on before a sword was pointed Fang Xing’s way.
“Speak up, what the hell are you? You dare scare this young master?” A handsome face filled with anger and a gaze full of hatred was directed towards Fang Xing. The long sword glowed with increasing sword intent as it pointed towards Fang Xing’s face with only the cage separating them.
Fang Xing looked at the roasted meat that had been stomped into the mud. His expression was filled with so much grief it bordered on madness.
“I am asking you a question!” When the young master saw Fang Xing staring at the roast meat without even looking their way, their flames of anger only grew brighter.
She was a very proud person, which was seen in how she took people to the depths of the mountains to hunt peril beasts and hadn’t even blinked at the idea of sacrificing half her men to do so. Fang Xing’s appearance had simply been too abrupt, however, and it had been so beyond the norm she’d ended up shocked. When she remembered how mortifying her behavior had been before she came to her senses, the anger within her grew even higher.
When she saw Fang Xing wanted food, she intentionally didn’t let him have any. The more she looked at him, the more suspicious she became and she coldly shouted, “Answer me clearly; where did you come from? Why are you here? Are you trying to ruin my reputation by purposely not wearing anything?” As she spoke, she suddenly remembered her younger sister who’d tried everything to ruin her reputation to gain that person’s favor, and the look she gave Fang Xing became even more suspicious. If that person knew she’d seen the body of another man, would he dislike her for it? The more she thought, the angier she became.
“We’re all men anyway. Why are you so—” Fang Xing raised his head and intended to curse, but with so little distance between them, he was left in a daze when he realized despite this so-called “young master” wearing male clothing and a masculine hairstyle, the appearance was cute and the body had soft lines. Although the chest might have been tightly wrapped, there was still a faint curve; how was this a man? This was clearly a woman dressed as a man, and he wasn’t able to say anything further.
“Where are you looking? You don’t want your eyes anymore?” She’d originally been upset Fang Xing wasn’t looking at her, but now that he was, this “young master” believed he was staring at her chest and became more and more agitated. With a swoosh , the sword light on her longsword shined brightly before thrusting through the iron railings straight towards Fang Xing’s eyes.
Fang Xing flinched at this—he hadn’t expected this woman to be so vicious as to try to stab him blind after only a few words. He was trapped inside the cage so he couldn’t evade it, and he didn’t have any energy so it would be difficult to take the attack head-on. At such a critical point, he stopped caring and simply opened his mouth to bite it.
Pah .
Fang Xing gripped the blade in his teeth and when he tilted his head, the sword had lost a portion of its length.
The girl was stumbled back in shock, her hand still holding the half-length sword and her face turning ashen grey.
“Fang Xing spat out the sword tip and asked, “I only looked at you a couple times and you want to blind me? Your little grandpa here is only asking for a piece of meat, so is it really necessary to attack me so viciously? Besides, even if you are a woman, it was you who saw me naked, and I didn’t even plan on seeing it back! How have I ruined your reputation?” Fang Xing’s words were quite angry and desperate now. Although he’d achieved the full mastery of Foundation Stage and had an extremely sturdy physique and vitality that allowed him to quickly recover from wounds, the eyes were different. He’d become blind if his eyes were pierced, and recovering one’s eyesight after such an injury would be extremely difficult, like trying to walk on a steel wire.
After taking a few steps back, the girl realized she’d been frightened by Fang Xing again and her anger only grew. She raised the broken sword while slowly walking close once more, and her eyes let off a shine as she coldly replied, “With your battle prowess, even if you cannot kill any peril beasts, there’s no way you’d go hungry! Are you really trying to play me for a fool? From what I see, your background is suspicious; who knows, you might even be a spy sent by the Fengtian clan or the Xunlong clan. Someone come and cripple him; leave a single breath behind for this young master to slowly interrogate….”
