Chapter 108: Chapter 102: Zhan Qipei, the Matter of Me Being a Woman Has Arrived!
Seeing Qiao Jing’s pained expression, Zhan Qipei’s entire being panicked in an instant; his hand, extended towards her lower back, hesitated, uncertain whether to embrace her or not.
“I’ll take you to the hospital!”
Qiao Jing was now in unbearable pain in her lower abdomen, feeling as if something was about to fall out—a sensation every woman knew all too well.
Counting the days, she wasn’t due until the day after tomorrow. It must have been the large half bottle of ice water she drank earlier that caused her period to arrive early.
As Qiao Jing was thinking this, suddenly that warm wetness slid down, and the discomfort beneath her reached its peak in an instant.
“I’m really okay, I just need to rest for a while.”
Qiao Jing bit her lower lip, enduring the intense discomfort, covered her abdomen with her hands, and slowed her steps toward her room.
“You’re like this, and you still say you’re okay? You—” Zhan Qipei didn’t manage to finish his words, his attention drawn instead to the large stain behind Qiao Jing.
“You’re bleeding!”
Upon hearing this, Qiao Jing’s temples abruptly throbbed.
“Don’t follow me!” Qiao Jing quickened her pace, rushing toward her own room.
Before she could reach the door, however, the long legs behind her caught up in a few strides, and without another word, he scooped her up horizontally.
“Today, no matter what you say or how much you insist, I am taking you to the hospital!”
Zhan Qipei’s face was stern, his expression taut, looking every bit as if he were dealing with a national crisis.
“Put me down, you—”
“Shut up!” Zhan Qipei interrupted Qiao Jing in a deep voice.
Qiao Jing’s eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Zhan Qipei.
He was telling her to shut up? It would be hard to find a second person in this world who dared to speak to her with that tone.
Yet, she didn’t feel annoyed because she knew that it was his concern for her that made him act this way.
Zhan Qipei, holding Qiao Jing, arrived at the foyer and began to change shoes.
“Hurry and put me down; I really am fine!”
No matter what Qiao Jing said, Zhan Qipei just wouldn’t put her down.
Having no choice, she struggled to get down from his embrace.
Tragically, as soon as she exerted herself, the pain intensified, followed by another rush of warmth.
At this moment, her body was almost pressed against the man’s front, so without looking, she knew she must have stained him as well.
Zhan Qipei finished changing shoes, hand on the doorknob, ready to turn.
“Zhan Qipei! My period started!” After shouting this, Qiao Jing turned her head away, her ears tinted with an embarrassed crimson.
Zhan Qipei’s hand on the doorknob froze, and it took him a full three seconds to recover from his daze. His gaze gradually shifted to the girl in his arms, and seeing her wanting to burrow into a mouse hole to hide, he believed she wasn’t lying to him.
“Aren’t you going to put me down yet?” Qiao Jing said, her voice firm despite her embarrassment.
Zhan Qipei moved his lips slightly, as if he meant to say something, but when he opened his mouth, he realized he didn’t know what to say.
After putting Qiao Jing down, he looked at the conspicuous stain on her light-colored jeans, then lowered his gaze to his own white shirt, now speckled with blossom-like stains.
Qiao Jing pressed her hand to her forehead. “Take off your shirt, I’ll wash it later. If you don’t want it, I’ll buy you a new one.”
“No need.” Zhan Qipei said, and began unbuttoning his shirt to take it off.
Qiao Jing couldn’t care less about anything else at the moment; she needed to change her pants and then lie down on the bed to rest properly.
After stripping off his clothes, Zhan Qipei walked to the trash bin, ready to throw them away.
The clothes hung in mid-air, and as Zhan Qipei stared at the specks of red on the shirt, for some reason, he didn’t find them dirty at all.
After being silent for about fifteen seconds, Zhan Qipei retracted his hand and took the shirt to the bathroom, turned on the hot water, added some detergent, and soaked it.
Since the blood was fresh, a light scrubbing was all it took to clean it off.
Though he was the wealthiest man in the capital, he couldn’t afford to be too wasteful.
Right, that was it. The reason he didn’t throw away the shirt wasn’t because of Qiao Jing.
After convincing himself of this, Zhan Qipei no longer entertained any muddled thoughts.
The scene shifted to Qian Haisheng, who stared at his phone with a murderous scowl on his face.
Qian Yuang shifted his gaze from the phone and said, “Dad, didn’t you hire over ten assassins? How could this be the result?”
“I’d like to know that myself!” Qian Haisheng said irritably, “I guess maybe she was lucky, happened to have someone pass by and rescue her, or some other accident occurred.”
No matter what the speculation, Qian Haisheng had considered them all, but never did it cross his mind that all the assassins had been dealt with by Qiao Jing alone.
“So what do we do now? Hire more people?”
Qian Haisheng spoke coldly after two seconds of silence, “This girl must die!”
“Then why not employ the top assassin of the league, Leng Qing? With a success rate of 100%, if he takes the job, Qiao Jing is as good as dead.” Qian Yuang still thought it was a pity if Qiao Jing just died like that, but seeing his father was determined to kill her, he had to let go of the thought of savoring her further.
“Hmm, that was my plan as well.”
Qian Haisheng returned to his usual composed demeanor, fidgeting with the jade beads in his hand as he continued, “After what happened today, the Zhan Family would assume we’ve tipped them off, so they won’t act in the short term. But I will do the exact opposite and have Leng Qing make his move tonight.”
“What if they’ve guessed our plan?” Qian Yuang asked. “If they suspect we might strike again and secretly protect Qiao Jing, could our actions tonight fall right into their hands?”
“So what if they’ve guessed? After all, Qiao Jing isn’t one of the Zhan Family. Even if they do send someone to protect her, they can’t possibly assign many. Besides, we’re hiring Leng Qing. With Leng Qing taking action, we needn’t worry about problems arising.”
Qian Yuang nodded, “Indeed.”

Zhan Qipei was on a call with Tang Yan, “Send more people over these next few days. According to my analysis, those who want to kill Qiao Jing will strike again.”
“Got it, boss. I’ll arrange for people right away.”
No sooner had Tang Yan finished speaking than the doorbell rang.
“Ding—Dong—Ding—Dong—”
Zhan Qipei glanced toward the living room door. Who could it be at this hour?
“Ding—Dong—” The stubborn ringing of the doorbell persisted.
Qiao Jing came out of the room clutching her stomach.
Zhan Qipei looked at Qiao Jing, “Why are you out here?”
“The doorbell rang.” Qiao Jing spoke with a breathless voice due to the cold shock.
“I’ll get it. You go back and rest.” Zhan Qipei walked briskly to the door and pulled it open.
A young man in flamboyant attire stood in the doorway, his hair dyed fiery red, sunglasses on his face, and a gold chain as thick as a finger around his neck.
But that wasn’t the focal point. What really stood out was how genuinely fat the visitor was. Planted in the doorway, he almost blocked the entrance completely.
“Who are you?” Just as Zhan Qipei’s words landed, he heard the slightly surprised voice of Qiao Jing from behind him.
“Fatty? It’s you?”
