Chapter 667: Chapter 661 – There’s A Lot That Will Surprise You (Part 2)
“Seems like you hold a high position in their ranks?” Finn Lewis thought for a moment before asking.
“No need to ask, I won’t tell. Even if you guys don’t kill me, I won’t survive if I spill the beans.” Yuka Young answered decidedly.
“How about changing your master? You probably don’t know what the person you want to kill means?” After thinking for a while, Lewis asked calmly.
“Do you actually believe that a man who has just inherited a primitive star system can fight against Lord Jade Dragon? Or do you think you can take on the Rochefort Clan?” Yuka’s eyes were full of ridicule.
“Hehe.” Lewis chuckled, feeling a bit of unrest on the bridge at the mention of Rochefort Clan.
Without thinking, Lewis knew how formidable the royal family’s nine major surnames were. More so considering Jasmine Davis and her team were a minor pirate group, not even the biggest one.
“Treat her wounds. We can’t let her die. I feel that sometimes, words get spilled.” Lewis tossed these words, then turned to Commander Davis, “Have any good ideas on how we get to your spaceship?”
“Difficult, because this place is under the jurisdiction of the Federation, we can’t openly come here. I brought them in under communication silence.” Jasmine Davis frowned, responding.
“Is there no special communication channel? I don’t believe it. I suppose that with your style, you would always have an emergency communication method.” Lewis tersely asked, refusing to believe that Jasmine had no emergency contact method.
“There is, but the place we are in right now, I don’t think you know where it is, do you?” Jasmine seemed helpless.
“I am aware that communication here will be affected. But now you need to make a decision. If we can’t escape, none of us will survive.” Lewis calmly voiced his opinion.
Jasmine rolled her eyes: “Aren’t you afraid we would capture and negotiate with the enemy with you?”
“I believe you won’t.” Lewis nodded, affirming.
“You do have faith in me. All right, we can only change our trajectory now and let your personal brain constantly monitor the actions of the enemy fleet.” Jasmine, serious once more, said bluntly.
“Leave that to me. But can you tell me how you plan to get out of here?” Lewis seemed helpless, as he asked.
Jasmine looked at Lewis but didn’t answer him. Instead, she turned to the side and slapped a button in front of her, loudly asking, “Is that Davis there?”
“I am, what’s up, boss?” A hoarse voice came from the intercom.
“Get to the engine room now! Ensure the engine keeps running. I ask you, if we use high-frequency short-distance transposition, how long can you guarantee that the transposition engine will be operational? We are in trouble now. We are being targeted. There is a whole fleet chasing us. If we can’t contact our spaceship within 30 hours, you can start waiting for death!” Jasmine blurted out.
“Boss, I’ll get on it now, but this ship is sort of ancient. The energy cube for the jump engine has been used too many times, the energy upper limit has at least decreased by ten percent. The engine itself is not much of a problem, but we don’t have enough energy cubes!” That Davis quickly responded through the intercom.
“Dismantle the auxiliary systems, energy cubes from space fighter jets and mechs. Try to connect them externally, didn’t you do that before?” Jasmine directly replied.
“Can we escape from the enemy if we have enough energy cubes?” Lewis suddenly asked.
“No, but having enough energy cubes is the prerequisite for us to be able to escape from the enemy.” Davis didn’t care who asked the question and directly answered.
“Take me to the engine room.” Lewis commanded.
“What for?” Jasmine looked at Lewis confusedly.
“Just a visit. I happen to have energy cubes here.” Lewis smiled and replied.
Jasmine’s face instantly looked weird. She looked Finn Lewis up and down, then turned her gaze to the ring on his hand. She roughly had an idea of what it was, “You don’t have to worry, since I dare to use it, naturally I can guarantee its stability.” Lewis added.
“Okay, I hope the quality of your energy cube is high enough. Where did you get this energy cube from?” Jasmine asked.
“Brought it from my territory.” Lewis just shrugged.
Jasmine was both amused and annoyed. Of course, she knew about Finn’s territory, but she also knew the primitive planets’ technological kind of phase it was in. They couldn’t possibly have any high-grade energy cubes, would they? A battery, right? That’s what it’s called, isn’t it? Jasmine was speechless.
“Okay, I’ll let someone take you there, whether it can be used or not will be known after he looks at it.” Jasmine waved her hand quickly.
Lewis nodded, following the person Jasmine had called over to the engine room. The energy cube he held in his hand was, as expected, exchanged from Zero, who had prepared them for the Insect Species, the worker bees of Icarus. Its purpose was to enable the worker bees to propagate the insect base in the shortest time possible. Who knew there would be an opportunity to use it here.
The person who led Lewis didn’t speak much along the way. Lewis himself had no clue what a standard jump engine energy cube looked like. But since even that Davis could utilize energy cubes dismantled from other places, there shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Although it was a small spaceship, it was a matter of perspective. This ship was several times larger than an airplane and much higher. There were many stairs to climb up and down, especially going to the engine room. The roads were even narrower. By the time Lewis and his guide reached the engine room, it had already been 20 minutes.
“Hey, that Davis, I’ve brought someone to see you.” When they reached a dilapidated cabin door, the person who had brought Lewis knocked on the shabby door and loudly spoke.
“Who? Who’d you bring? I’m busy, no time. If you’ve got time, go help me dismantle the energy cubes!” The same hoarse voice came from inside.
