Chapter 551: Chapter 545: The Struggle of Ice and Fire
For a Pet of the King class to advance from mid-Class IV to the apex of Class V, it typically takes at least three to four years.
Yet, David Jones needed only three Dragon-Breath Herbs and three superior Dragon Crystals to let his contracted Pets achieve in just a few days what other beast cultivators struggle for years to attain!
But the only downside to this method is how taxing it is on the Trainer!
Feeling the slowly circulating Dragon-Wielding Force within his body, David Jones revealed a wry smile on his face.
It looked like he would need to cut short his Arcane Star cultivation time somewhat for the foreseeable future, focusing more energy on the strengthening of superior Dragon Crystals.
After all, other Trainers feared being backlashed by their beasts and would consider loyalty, typically keeping their Pets’ strength within a range that was not far off from their own Arcane Star.
However, with the Dragon affinity brought about by Dragon Dance, coupled with the daily reinforcement and bond of Dragon-Wielding Force, there was no possibility of backlash, even if all his contracted Pets were advanced to Class VI Kings.
David Jones only needed to consider whether his Arcane Star Strength could withstand the presence of five Pets at the apex of Class V.
“Boom!”
With the light of advancement dissipated, the burly Domination began to fade away slowly, and the timid Goldy dared to approach again. Looking at Daphne, whose appearance remained unchanged, but with an aura profoundly different, exuding a sense of grandeur that could awe the heavens and shake the earth.
“Gurgle!” (So handsome!)
Gazing up at the majestic Daphne hovering in mid-air, Goldy swallowed its saliva, a flicker of yearning in its eyes.
Pity, why can it only burrow through the earth and not soar through the skies!
Glancing at Goldy, whose spiritual intelligence was growing by the day, David Jones focused his attention back on Daphne.
As expected, Daphne, perfectly refined from the medicinal power, had not only awakened her exclusive Destiny Power but also elevated her Cultivation to mid-Class V, surpassing Rainbow to become the highest in the team.
“Whoosh!”
Very carefully, Daphne retracted the flames that emanated automatically from her body, lest she harm David Jones, and then her body transformed into a dazzling silver flash as she instantly burst into the arm of the Trainer.
“How does it feel?” David Jones smiled.
“Mew!” (I’ve become much stronger!)
Daphne proudly lifted her head, the immense power within clearly affording her plenty of confidence.
Beforehand, she could only just contend against Class VI King Pets, even requiring team efforts to barely clinch a victory against a higher-ranked opponent, but now it was different.
Setting aside the Destiny Power “Destiny Termination,” which even Daphne herself considered to be outrageously powerful, just using Sun Chasing alone now filled her with the confidence to effortlessly defeat Class VI Kings, and she even felt assured in her ability to contend against a fusion battle with the Trainer and big sister when she deploys the Emperor’s Frost Armor.
Daphne believed that, before the version update, a.k.a. big sister’s perfect Evolution, she could dominate any single battle with anyone else in the team (excluding Lolo).
David Jones looked down and asked, “Do you know how to complete the Trial of Fate?”
The Destiny Power had four stages, and with just a preliminary awakening, Daphne could already potentially kill a Class VII Overlord by leaping two ranks. If fully awakened, wouldn’t that give her the chance to challenge and even slay a Legend?
“Mew!” (I don’t know!)
Daphne shook her head. She was somewhat confused about this newly awakened power, with absolutely no information in her mind about the next stage of the Trial of Fate.
At her words, David Jones fell silent for a moment.
Perhaps Daphne’s strength had not yet reached the minimum threshold to engage with the Trial of Fate; otherwise, she would not be totally clueless about it.
“Yi!” (Do you want to have a battle?)
At that moment, Rainbow directly issued a battle invitation to Daphne.
Due to the limitations of Trainers, battles between them were always kept within bounds, with a controlled intensity, and they never released skills with excessive lethality. As a result, it had been a long time since Rainbow had actually fought with Daphne, with skill practice being more common in their daily routines.
Daphne tilted her head to look at the eager big sister, then at her teammates in front of her who were looking forward to the show, and slowly nodded.
“Friendship first, competition second, you two better not let it turn into a real fight!” David Jones reminded them.
Judging from the Species Level and the Normal Arcane Force Value of the two pets, Daphne clearly had an absolute advantage, but that didn’t mean Rainbow had no chance of winning. After all, anything could happen in the rapidly changing dynamics of battle.
“Yi!” “Mi!” (No problem.)
The two little ones made eye contact and then responded in unison.
As David Jones announced the start of the battle, the next second, Rainbow couldn’t hold back any longer and took the initiative to launch a probing attack.
“Confusion Seal!”
An overwhelming Confusion surged from within Rainbow, turning into omni-present frequency ripples throughout the world, intending to lock Daphne down and put her in a predicament where she couldn’t move.
Sensing the previously troublesome Confusion had become weak and feeble, Daphne went straight for the Flame Emperor Shock, releasing scorching flames from her body to break the Confusion Seal that was restricting her, then she thrust forward with all four legs.
“Bang!”
The ground splattered with sand and stone due to the intense impact, and Daphne vanished from her spot in an instant. Her figure turned into a blazing fireball, a meteor with an endless high temperature, racing towards Rainbow with an unstoppable force.
Not to be outdone, Rainbow didn’t retreat a step. Her diminutive body, with the help of Size Adjustment and Frostfall Ashes, gradually expanded in an orderly fashion into an awe-inspiring Flood Dragon, constantly exuding a terrifyingly low temperature that was elegant all the while.
Rainbow raised her huge dragon claw, swiftly gathering the Ice Arcane Force permeating in the air at a terrifying speed, forming layers of shimmering extreme ice that twinkled with white glints, clearly intending to take Daphne’s attack head-on.
Boom!
Before Daphne’s body even touched Rainbow’s dragon claw, the horrifying flames exuding from her surface clashed violently with the cold air released by Rainbow.
In the intertwining of flames and cold light, the pupils of Rainbow’s dragon eyes suddenly narrowed, quickly noticing that the extreme ice covering her dragon claw was starting to show numerous cracks and signs of melting.
This astonishing scene did not escape David Jones’s eyes; a hint of surprise flickered through them.
Before Daphne advanced, the flames she released could certainly evaporate Rainbow’s extreme ice, but it required a considerable amount of time, such that several of their previous battle practices ended with Daphne at a disadvantage.
Now that Daphne’s cultivation had caught up and after absorbing the Solar Seed to evolve, the flames she released finally demonstrated their power to burn everything down.
“Yi!” (▼へ▼メ)
Feeling the intense pressure, Rainbow let out a deafening dragon chant, her Dragon Tail curling slightly behind her. She released the Eternal Frost Annihilation in a unique fashion, the pinnacle of Ice power. Eternal Frost Aura instantly enveloped Daphne’s figure.
“Crackle crackle!”
The flames burning on Daphne’s body were suddenly extinguished for the most part, and a layer upon layer of incredibly solid, bone-chilling frost wrapped around her silver fur, gradually forming a remarkable ice sculpture that was delicate and unique, still with fires burning within.
Seeing Daphne in a frozen state with the outcome decided, Rainbow let out a sigh of relief.
However, in the next second, an unexpected turn of events occurred.
