Chapter 1134: Chapter 1134: Refreshing Three Views
Ji Fang’s mind was clear as a mirror, ignoring anyone with impure intentions. No matter how much they tried to please him, he wouldn’t dare to act contrary to his loyalty. Despite the Deputy Director being very good to him, he never took advantage of his favor to lose perspective on what was important.
“Ji Fang, you’re here.”
The break room housed about a dozen people, most of whom were young, around Ji Fang’s age, a third of them women.
Upon seeing Ji Fang enter, Zhao Wei, sporting large braids, greeted him with a radiant smile, her demeanor warm and natural.
“I just heard you were called away to take a phone call and was wondering when you’d be back. Didn’t expect it to be so soon,” Zhao Wei said. Though her name might sound male, she was a bona fide beauty.
With almond-shaped eyes and rosy cheeks, her long, black, glossy hair styled into the most fashionable double braids made her the center of attention wherever she went.
She was the focus of everyone in the expert group, attended by her senior professor who took great care of his relative. This made Zhao Wei very confident, looking down on those she deemed inferior.
Upon joining the expert group, she had set her sights on Zhou Hengguang.
Young, handsome, and with an elegant, restrained demeanor. His formidable abilities and profound background even made her uncle step back in deference. Zhao Wei had never seen a man as attractive as him! Most importantly, this man was not only superior in appearance but in all other aspects incomparable to others.
At first sight, Zhao Wei lost her heart.
For over half a month, she constantly thought about Zhou Hengguang, following him everywhere with affectionate, pitiful eyes.
She had thought that with her advantages and beauty, she could surely make the Deputy Director fall in love with her, but to her frustration, she found that he didn’t even spare her a glance.
This deeply upset Zhao Wei, and after several days of gloom, she changed strategies, starting with Ji Fang.
“They say ‘a girl chasing a boy is separated by a mere layer of gauze,’” she believed she couldn’t fail to win the Deputy Director’s heart.
“Just busy.” Ji Fang responded coldly.
“Here, this is chocolate I brought from my hometown. You haven’t tried it before, right? My aunt’s relative is a diplomat and brought this exotic item from abroad,” Zhao Wei said, pulling out a beautifully packaged box of chocolate from her deep blue canvas bag.
“Take it back and let the Deputy Director try some too. Although it’s a bit bitter at first, it becomes lovable later,” Zhao Wei, enjoying the envious and jealous stares from those around her, stood proudly upright.
Her family was well-off and had many capable relatives. Certainly, not something those from the countryside, with their rustic manners, could compete with.
Had it been before, Ji Fang would have been very excited, but now he was entirely indifferent.
Because the Deputy Director’s home had plenty of it—everything he used, ate, or wore was of the most expensive kind. When Ji Fang first became the Deputy Director’s secretary, he didn’t even recognize the value of those items. Later, the Deputy Director, in order to please Su Yao and Su Duo, had him manage the import of many luxurious, temporary toys.
Since then, Ji Fang had as if opened the doors to a new world.
Through channels and contacts introduced by the Deputy Director, he had delved deeply into the products of other countries. Such exploration had left him dazed for over half a month.
The watch the Deputy Director wore was worth over a million?
Clothes, more than ten thousand?
Shoes… shoes were over eight thousand?
And the glasses, over a hundred pairs in the Deputy Director’s dressing room, each costing several thousand, some even more expensive.
