Chapter 732: Sisterhood
Editor: Henyee Translations
The lackey crashed to the ground, his mind reeling as he realized his blunder. “Damn it! You’re Young Master Gu’s Eldest Aunt? And you… you’re his cousins?!”
Gu Yang couldn’t help but suppress a slight smirk. This lackey’s response time was a bit sluggish.
Turning to Gu Shuda, the lackey smacked his own thigh in frustration. “Young Master Gu, this is all wrong. Pursuing this girl is completely out of bounds!”
Another kick from Gu Shuda sent him sprawling once more. “Damn it! Do I need you to state the obvious?”
“But she’s your cousin,” the lackey persisted.
Gu Shuda’s expression faltered.
All he wanted at that moment was to flee from the mall. The embarrassment was suffocating.
While others might have faced rejection, he had stumbled right into a dragon’s den.
Seeing Gu Shuda make a hasty retreat, Ruan Xueling called after him, “Wait, Nephew Gu, aren’t you going to say hello?”
Gu Shuda sprinted away even faster, hoping to outrun the awkwardness nipping at his heels.
Gu Yang shook her head, bemused. “Mom, it seems the main branch of the family in the capital isn’t too bright.”
Ruan Xueling shrugged. “Probably a family trait. Yangyang, let’s just ignore them. Come on, let’s go win some prizes.” She headed toward the claw machine, pointing at the panda doll inside. “I want that Bing Dwen Dwen.”
Gu Jin declared, “I want that yellow-furred rodent.”
Ruan Xueling cuddled a plush ice cube. “And that snowy fluffball.”
Gu Jin continued, “I want that snorting piglet.”
Gu Yang sighed, maneuvering the mechanical arm. “Fine, fine, I’ll get them for you.”
It was a revelation that not only did her mother have a penchant for dolls, but her sister did too. What else could she do but indulge them?
In the end, Gu Jin and Ruan Xueling left with a trove of vibrant plush toys, cramming the car trunk to the brim.
After their playtime, the trio ventured to buy clothes.
Jin Chang Mall boasted numerous clothing outlets.
Casually strolling into a luxury boutique, Ruan Xueling beckoned a shop assistant to present an ice-blue dress for Gu Jin to try. “Jin, this color complements your complexion beautifully.”
Eagerly, the shop assistant pitched, “Miss, this is our latest summer collection…”
Gu Jin’s attention drifted. She glanced at Gu Yang, who was admiring herself in a stunning dress before the mirror, and offhandedly remarked, “Do you still have that dress?”
The memory of that day’s altercation resurfaced—the audacity of that scoundrel Feng Jue, flaunting to her that her sister had bought them all sorts of matching outfits! It was a deliberate attempt to needle her into purchasing couple ensembles in her territory!
Enraged, she had spent the entire night dismantling every couple’s item in Jin Chang Mall.
Gu Yang, clad in a soft milky yellow dress, was taken aback by Gu Jin’s query. “Sister, you also like this style?”
Gu Jin nodded. “Yes.”
“Excellent choice.” The shop assistant hastened to retrieve the dress, offering a professional smile. “Miss, you have impeccable taste. This dress is part of our summer sweet collection, highly sought-after by young women. We also have a pink variant of the same design here.”
Gu Yang glanced at the pink dress, then at Gu Jin. “Sister, are you sure about this?”
The dress was undeniably lovely, and it would certainly suit Big Shot Sister. However, it didn’t quite align with her usual style. Big Shot Sister was more of a tomboy—it would be a challenge to suddenly switch to a sweet, girly look.
Ruan Xueling shared the sentiment. She recalled Gu Jin’s previous aversion to pink dresses. “Jin, weren’t you always opposed to wearing pink?”
Gu Jin’s expression remained unchanged. “No, I like it.”
As long as she was matching her sister’s outfit, she didn’t mind wearing colorful clothes.
Just then, a familiar voice interrupted, “I’ll take that dress, please.”
