Chapter 1091: Section 1092: Astonishing Secrets
Would Sanders explain the current situation of his disciple, Angel?
Sinafa’s inexplicable remark left everyone stunned, Wasn’t it said that there was important information? How could it suddenly switch to someone completely irrelevant?
Angel, the majority of Wizards present had actually heard this name, a talented apprentice of the Illusion Demon Island lineage, who had recently caused quite a stir due to an alchemy video, being dubbed the Alchemist closest to the mystical levels. Now, he had already become the star of tomorrow in the Alchemy World.
Speaking of Angel’s deeds alone, he was a very talented junior whose skill in Alchemy now allowed him to sit on equal terms with Official Wizards.
However, even if Angel’s talent in Alchemy was exceptional, what relevance did he have with the subsequent message? Why did Sinafa suddenly mention this person?
Among the Wizards present, probably only Monty had some vague understanding of news about Angel. In recent years, he had been wandering the inner layers of the Abyss, paying attention only to major events in the Wizards’ Realm, so an apprentice’s affairs, even if they caused small ripples, did not catch his eye.
Therefore, Monty asked with some confusion, “Sanders’ disciple, Angel? Who is he?”
Facing Monty’s question, immediately someone relayed the known news.
As Monty gradually formed a vague image of Angel in his mind with the expanded understanding, he also began to feel puzzled. Even though Angel performed well among his peers, he was after all just an apprentice, so what did Sinafa mean?
Monty immediately voiced his doubts.
After a moment of silence on the other side of the communicator, Sinafa’s serious voice came through, “He is very much related to the message I am about to share. His current situation will determine whether or not the words I say next are worth discussing.”
“Can you tell me why?” Monty asked.
A murmuring sound filled the air, followed by Sinafa revealing something nearly absurd to everyone, “Because the information I have received, it was given to me by him.”
A message given to Sinafa by Angel?!
Angel was just an apprentice, right? All the Wizards were baffled; there were no apprentices above the floating ice this time. The horror of the Demon City was not something an apprentice could endure!
But now, listening to Sinafa, was Angel in Lassudral? And he had given Sinafa important information?
To everyone listening, it sounded like a wild and fanciful tale.
“Is what you’re saying true?” Monty couldn’t help but seek confirmation again.
“He claimed to be Angel, and earlier, when I fought against the awakened Succubus, I almost revealed my trump card. But at the key moment, the Succubus stopped. I suspect it must have something to do with him.”
The new information was even more shocking. What merits and capabilities did an apprentice possess to make an awakened Succubus willing to cease fighting?
Yet, according to Sinafa’s words, it didn’t seem like she was lying.
Monty’s confusion was no less than that of the other Wizards around him. He looked up at the situation outside the floating ice, Sanders was currently fighting a great Demon, with an expression that belonged to one who was becoming more engrossed in the battle. Even if he wanted to get answers from Sanders, it was probably not possible right now.
While everyone was pondering and Monty was hesitating, a somewhat aged voice suddenly spoke up, “Angel is indeed in Lassudral.”
All eyes turned to the speaker, who was the previously reticent Kanter.
“Lord of the Night, are you telling the truth?” Before Monty could ask, other Wizards rushed to inquire.
Kanter sighed deeply, originally, he didn’t want to talk about it; after all, Angel’s appearance in the perilous Demon City was too bizarre and could give rise to overthinking among others. Kanter had initially thought of waiting for Sanders to finish his business and then secretly look for Angel. But now, Sinafa had abruptly brought up Angel, and moreover, from her tone, Angel had revealed important information. After much consideration, Kanter decided to reveal Angel’s situation.
Seeing that everyone, including Lord Monty and Sinafa on the other side of the communicator, was waiting for his response, Kanter finally nodded somewhat resignedly, “Just half a month ago, as the staff from Watchguard Fortress were transferring to Sky Island, Sanders took Angel with him midway, initially planning to take Angel back to the Wizards’ Realm.”
“Return to the Wizards’ Realm? The energy tide of the cross-dimensional gateway had just passed; how could they return to the Wizards’ Realm?” someone muttered softly, voicing everyone’s thoughts.
Kanter glanced at the person who spoke and softly said, “Fragmented Mayfly.”
Everyone was enlightened, and Monty also nodded, adding for Kanter, “Previously, Lord Rhein also arrived in the Abyss through the Fragmented Mayfly.”
With the explanation of cross-dimensional travel clarified, everyone had different emotions. Everyone knew how precious a Fragmented Mayfly was; Sanders had used something so valuable to send his apprentice back, which showed how much he valued him…
“Since they were taking Angel back to the Wizards’ Realm, how could he appear in Lassudral?” Monty asked.
Kanter shrugged and shared how the space-time enigma had trapped Sanders, mentioning that Angel was waiting in Wind Whisper Valley and didn’t enter the gateway. Finally, after Sanders managed to escape, he had to return to the Wizards’ Realm first, leaving Angel stranded in the Abyss.
By the time Sanders and Rhein returned to the Abyss, Angel had disappeared.
“According to the information left at the scene, Angel was taken away by an extremely powerful being. Sanders has also been searching for information on Angel all this time.”
With that said, everyone had a general understanding of the situation, though Kanter was vague on some of the details and scenes; however, this did not affect the main course of events.
Angel being taken by an extremely powerful being and then appearing in Lassudral seemed somewhat too bizarre, but it wasn’t impossible.
Monty: “Then how can you be sure that Angel is in Lassudral?”
“Because I saw him,” Kanter said. “When I was blending into the Bloodline of Night to investigate Lassudral, I saw Angel. He was in that mysterious little shop, and it was a dark-skinned woman from that shop who attacked and wounded me. So, from this, it’s clear that the message Angel left behind was accurate; indeed, there is an extremely powerful being by his side.”
As Kanter finished speaking, people were still pondering any suspicious elements in his story, when Sinafa’s voice came through the communicator, decisive and unequivocal: “I knew it! He’s connected to that mysterious shop!”
Sinafa quickly relayed the words the Succubus had said before leaving.
“It said that the shopkeeper instructed it to spare me, so the shopkeeper it chose to honor must be the one from that mysterious little shop which awakened it,” Sinafa paused, “I suspected before that Angel might be involved with that mysterious shop, perhaps, he might even be the shopkeeper!”
One shocking revelation after another struck their minds like thunder, and they no longer pursued why Kanter hadn’t mentioned seeing Angel before.
If Sinafa was right, then the mysterious shop that riled up all of Lassudral and stood supported by a human? Most importantly, this human was a Wizard Apprentice?!
How was that possible? Despite their doubts, the facts were before them, and they had to believe.
“There must be more to the story, what relation does the mysterious extremely powerful being have to Angel, that still needs to be looked into,” Monty had encountered many surprises, and his reaction was rather mild, but he too felt genuinely astonished that an Apprentice could cause such a commotion.
“If Angel was nearby at the time, that extremely powerful being must also have been close. It didn’t attack me, perhaps indicating it didn’t want to get involved in the fight?” Sinafa speculated.
“It’s hard to say, but regardless, we still have to be cautious,” Monty paused, “Now we can be fairly certain that Angel should be in Lassudral, so what exactly is the information he passed on to you?”
Everyone was still in a daze, but they perked up their ears upon hearing Monty’s question.
“Angel said he has seen Aoluxiya,” another thunderbolt thrown by Sinafa.
Monty nodded calmly, “I can confirm that as well; one of my covert lines left in Lassudral saw Aoluxiya visit that mysterious shop. If Angel is really related to the mysterious shop, then it’s true he has seen Aoluxiya.”
“He also told me that in the location Monty His Excellency directed me to explore, there is a Demon about to Ascend the Throne.”
With a calm tone, Sinafa spoke of a matter that could stir up a massive upheaval.
Yet, it was precisely this calm that made the impact of the words and the shock behind them even more striking.
At that moment, all of the Wizards trembled.
The Wizards from the Southern Domain feared nothing more in their ventures into the Abyss than encountering a Demon Lord. For a Demon Lord was an entity comparable to a Legendary Wizard, and even Monty would be powerless against one.
And now, in Lassudral, atop the outer layer of the Abyss, a Demon was about to Ascend the Throne?!
While everyone’s minds were in a tangled mess from this news, Monty finally could no longer remain seated. He had previously received all sorts of information with equanimity, because they had yet to reveal any of their trump cards. They had confidence and heritage, and even facing the onslaught of several great Demons, Monty had some certainty he could retreat in one piece.
But now, with the news that a Demon Lord was about to emerge, Monty panicked.
Even a newly promoted Demon Lord would have the strength to crush them all. No matter their ace in the hole, under absolute power, all would be inconsequential.
“Did he really say so?” Monty’s voice was also very calm, but everyone understood that this calmness was merely superficial.
“I am certain of it; it’s precisely because the news is so shocking, that I had to confirm Angel’s situation,” replied Sinafa.
Monty’s expression turned somewhat gloomy, his gaze piercing through the mask, fixating on a building on the southern outskirts of Lassudral. All the floating fire patterns in the sky emanated from that structure.
Previously, Monty felt the atmosphere in Lassudral was odd, wondering why the sky was alight with flames. Now there was an explanation, but this explanation pressured Monty immensely.
Was the Fire Monarch truly about to be born?
