Chapter 219: Game within a game
Yan Shu smiled. “Why aren’t we helping her? She can’t die yet!”
“There are so many of them fighting together! What if they dirty my clothes? Their blood is filthy!” Wu Yi leaned against the tree branch and said lazily. His flirtatious eyes curved into crescents when he smiled.
The people underneath the tree became entangled into a mess as they fought. Mu Ya and Guo Mei were frantically trying to persuade the members of their tribe as they attempted to shield Su Jiu behind their backs. However, the men in black easily shoved them away as they did not know martial arts. As such, they were not of much help either.
Yan Shu watched as the people beside Su Jiu gradually fell to the ground. However, the miners and members of the tribe at the back continued to dash forward quickly to substitute those who had fallen. The men in black looked malicious and were hell-bent on killing Su Jiu.
Even so, Su Jiu showed mercy as she remained lenient in her attacks. Those who had fallen to the ground were merely smacked unconscious by her shovel.
Wu Yi snorted coldly. “She’s too soft-hearted!”
Even though he was not impressed by her kindness, he could not help but be amazed by Su Jiu’s highly skilled martial arts.
The woman was slender and had delicate facial features. Her expression was cold and distant as she held a shovel in her hand. She did not appear to be crude, and it was a pleasure to watch her as she turned around and moved like the flowing wind. Her strength was overpowering, even though her movements were fluid.
Cries and screams continued to fill the woods as the sky gradually darkened. The birds and animals were frightened, as it was not the usual peaceful sight.
Regardless of how wonderful a place was, it could become a horrendous hell in the presence of benefits and temptations.
All these things would always happen due to the greedy nature of human beings!
Yan Shu was engrossed in watching the fight, when someone threw a shovel at them and yelled abruptly, “The demoness’ companions are over there! Quickly go and kill them all!”
Yan Shu chuckled as those blockheads just realized that they were missing!
Another shovel was thrown towards them, and a crowd gathered underneath the tree. Their gazes were vicious and ruthless under the dim evening sunlight.
Wu Yi ducked from the shovel and snorted. “These people are unreasonable, crude, and incapable of discerning right from wrong! No wonder they were easily instigated!”
“Master, let’s go down and help her! It will spell trouble for us if she’s hurt!” Yan Shu insisted.
Wu Yi nodded and was about to leap down from the tree when he saw a dark, cloud-like object flying towards them from a distance. The woods were enshrouded with darkness and soaked in a murderous atmosphere.
“This time, we have to help even if we are unwilling to!” Wu Yi smiled and landed beside Su Jiu as he flicked his sleeve and landed a blow on an attacker, instantly flinging him far away.
Su Jiu glanced at him amid the fight. “You just need to protect yourself. You don’t have to care about me!” she said calmly, without any hint of panic.
Wu Yi pouted mischievously. “Young Mistress, are you concerned about me?”
“Don’t misunderstand! I just want to keep you alive to save my husband!” Su Jiu said expressionlessly.
Wu Yi’s smile did not fade. “Treat it as if I’ve saved your life. Remember to pay me back next time!”
Su Jiu peered at him and was about to ask him why, when she felt a wave of murderous wind moving towards her. Hundreds of men dressed in black combed through the woods as they held swords in their hands, giving off a strong, deadly vibe. They dashed towards everyone in the woods, their morale extremely high as compared to those of the miners and members of the tribe, who only knew how to use brute force.
The attackers surrounding Su Jiu saw them and were instantly stunned. They were momentarily at a loss, unaware if those men were friends or foes.
Everyone sensed danger as the island was suddenly filled with a huge amount of people.
Su Jiu’s expression changed slightly as she yelled hastily, “These people are the assassins hired by the father and daughter duo of the Yun Family! Run quickly!”
Even though the members of the tribe were detestable, they were, after all, only deluded by the father and daughter duo of the Yun Family. As such, she could not bear to let them die.
Upon hearing Su Jiu’s words, Yun Ao shouted at the same time, “These men are the accomplices of the demoness! Run for your lives!”
Everyone was scared out of their wits as they dispersed quickly and scampered in all directions.
Wu Yi smiled mockingly at Su Jiu. “They still trusted their own members of the tribe in the end! Were you touched by your silly kindness?”
Su Jiu did not look at him as she leaped into the air and darted towards the men in black.
She moved swiftly like a ghost, not showing any mercy this time. She landed in front of one of them within an instant as she swerved around in the air. Three to four men had their throats slashed immediately, and they fell directly to the ground before they could even extract their swords.
Some of the miners and members of the tribe had seen Su Jiu killing the men in black before, and they were already aware that Su Jiu did not lie to them. It was the father and daughter duo of the Yun Family who had betrayed the tribe.
However, they had no time to inform the rest of the people, as the men in black had already spread out and sprung off to attack everyone, who were all running for their lives.
Yun Zhu stood behind a huge tree as she clutched onto the tree trunk, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Kill!
Kill Su Jiu and her accomplices!
It would be best if they could kill the tribal chief and the Patriarch of the Min Family as well. If that happened, her father would then become the new tribal chief, and she would be known as the daughter of a tribal chief.
She would develop the mines with her father and take control over the entire Wushan Isle. She would be rich and wealthy, and would achieve a status as noble as a princess!
Mu Zhen was leading the members of the tribe in fleeing towards their settlement when the glint of a sword flashed behind him. A sword was about to hack onto his back!
Mu Zhen fell to the ground with a bang and retreated in fear.
Mu Ya rushed over and blocked the sword with a shovel. He screamed, before gritting his teeth and fighting against the man in black.
However, he was only an ordinary young man who could not easily defeat a ruthless killer. As such, he was disarmed in an instant as his shovel was flung off. The man in black leaped towards him, aiming for his head.
“Mu Ya!” Mu Zhen shouted in desperation.
A loud clunk was heard as two swords clashed with each other, and sparks could be seen in the dim lights. The man in black stumbled backward, unable to figure out who had attacked him. Blood spurted out of his neck as he fell back onto the ground in an instant.
Mu Ya stared blankly at Su Jiu, unaware of how she could kill the man in black.
He only realized that Su Jiu was not trying to kill the members of his tribe previously!
The members of his tribe had been deluded by evildoers and had wanted to kill her, yet she had shown mercy.
Mu Ya fell to the ground and looked at the young woman in front of him, who shielded him and killed four to five people in an instant. He was extremely embarrassed at this moment.
The young man got to his feet and picked up his shovel as he dashed towards the other men in black.
Su Jiu stepped on a man’s head and flew ahead to pick up Guo Mei, who had been rendered speechless within the crowd. She flung Guo Mei towards Mu Ya as she instructed coldly, “If you don’t want to die, quickly lead the members of your tribe and retreat to the settlement! The Ji Manor’s guards are over there!”
Mu Ya held onto Guo Mei, who was unable to move from fear and supported his father at the same time. He quickly led the members of his tribe towards the settlement.
At this time, the guards within the mining district had arrived in a hurry. They had discovered the miners’ disappearance and had chased after them quickly. However, they had bumped into a group of men in black midway and hence could only rush here in time after a killing spree.
When the miners saw the arrival of the Ji Manor’s guards, they hastily ran towards them.
The Ji Manor’s guards protected the miners as they made their way towards the mining district. On the other hand, Su Jiu, Wu Yi, and Yan Shu shielded the members of the tribe while they ran towards the settlement.
The men in black dashed forward, having changed their target to the members of the tribe as they were unable to kill Su Jiu. It was as if they were attempting to kill everyone on the Wushan Isle.
Yun Ao hid within the crowd as he tripped over and fell to the ground all of a sudden. He turned around to see a man in black dashing towards him and quickly waved his arms around. “Don’t kill me! I’m one of you! It was me who led you all to the island! You can’t kill me!”
Mu Zhen turned around and said hatefully as he heard his words, “Yun Ao, it was indeed you who betrayed the members of the tribe!”
Yun Ao looked back in a panic and felt a chilling sensation on his neck. He could only watch as his own body remained on the ground while his head flew to a distance far away.
Yun Ao’s head landed on the ground and terrified the members of the tribe, who then hastily stepped back and fled.
Su Jiu was unsure of how many people she had killed. Her hands had gradually grown numb but her eyes sparkled with determination, as she knew that she was protecting the Ji Manor instead of the foolish members of the tribe.
Even if Ji Yuxian was absent, she would still willingly protect his assets and clear all obstacles for him.
Many men in black had been killed, yet more of them dashed forward after them. It was as if there was an endless amount of these assassins.
Wu Yi stood beside her as he fought. “What kind of people did Ji Manor offend?” he asked in curiosity.
Judging from their skills, they did not appear to be ordinary assassins.
Su Jiu was also aware of this and thought that the assassins’ background was not simple.
The strong smell of blood filled the woods, and the sky appeared to be soaked in fresh blood as well.
It was chaos between the sky and the land as dust and sand filled the air. The leaves fell violently and frantically towards the ground.
All of a sudden, a red shadow flew over within the dim lights. It moved like a cloud, and yet it was swift and fast as lightning. He landed in front of Su Jiu in an instant, and with a flick of his sleeve, he rolled Su Jiu into his embrace while she was still indulged in killing the assassins. He then leaped off with Su Jiu in his arms.
Jin Feng and Shangguan Yunkun arrived with the Ji Manor’s men within the next instant. They sliced through the air like a razor-sharp sword and attacked the men in black, who quickly fell to the ground one after another.
Ji Yuxian placed Su Jiu onto a horse a distance away. She turned around in shock as she asked frightfully, “Why are you here? It hasn’t been three days yet, you…”
Before she could finish, he held her in his embrace and quickly consoled her, “Don’t be scared! I didn’t forcefully gain consciousness. The poison in my body has been cured!”
Su Jiu’s hands trembled slightly as she held onto his clothes. “Are you telling me the truth? Are you not lying to me?”
“It’s the truth!” Ji Yuxian hugged her tightly. “I’ll still have to accompany you for the rest of our lives, so I won’t joke with my own life!”
Su Jiu finally felt relieved and was subsequently overwhelmed by elation. “Are you sure the poison has been cured? You won’t have to endure the pain every month from now on, am I right?”
“Yes, yes!” Ji Yuxian cupped her face in his hands. He lowered his head and kissed her stained cheeks. “I’m not going to die! We can grow old together and have a bunch of children!”
Tears sprang out of Su Jiu’s eyes and rolled down her soiled cheeks. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she nodded and choked back on her tears.
Ji Yuxian’s warm lips kissed her eyelids as a relieved sigh came out of his mouth.
However, the killing had yet to end. Su Jiu looked up and hastily said, “Those men in black…”
“Don’t worry!” The man’s eyes appeared cold under the moonlight as he smiled faintly. “Their arrival was within my expectation. I was aware of Yun Ao and his daughter’s plot a long time ago. Everything will be fine!”
The explosives buried within the mine shaft were a potential hazard. As such, he had intentionally spread the news of his unconsciousness during the period when he was clearing the poison in his body. He did not stop the men in black from approaching Yun Ao, and he had even dismissed a portion of the guards on the island to make it easier for the assassins to enter the island.
The only factor that he did not expect was Su Jiu.
Jin Feng had originally sent a man to follow Yun Ao and his daughter into the mine shaft to find out the location of the explosives. However, he did not expect to run into Su Jiu in the mine shaft.
In order not to alarm anyone, that man had hidden and watched Su Jiu leave with the explosives, before he retreated quietly.
He directly reported it to Jin Feng after he left the mining district and returned to the settlement.
Jin Feng was in shock when he heard about Su Jiu entering the mining district, and he quickly brought his men over.
Su Jiu mulled over Ji Yuxian’s words. So it turned out that he had been aware of Yun Ao and his daughter’s scheme, but why did he not send people to ambush this place in advance?
Yun Zhu had seen her clothes and guessed that she had shifted the explosives. As such, she had misled the miners on purpose and told them to go after Su Jiu.
However, Yun Ao was unaware that he would meet her here. He had brought the tribal chief and the members of the tribe over to investigate the reason for the explosion, planning to shift the blame to the Ji Manor.
If things went according to Ji Yuxian’s plan, Yun Ao and his group of people should have only met the men in black.
Ji Yuxian’s men did not come over even after a long time, because…
Su Jiu felt a wave of chillness as she abruptly looked up and said with certainty, “You wanted to kill those members of the tribe?”
Yes, Ji Yuxian had led the men in black onto the island to find out the location of the explosives, and let them kill the entire tribe at the same time.
Why did he do that?
Even if the tribe contained evildoers like Yun Ao, most of the members were kind and pure like Guo Mei and Mu Ya.
Su Jiu already roughly knew the answer.
Seeing her in disbelief, Ji Yuxian panicked and pulled her into his arms. “Jiu’er! I don’t want to hide anything from you, but please don’t look at me this way. Are you disappointed with me?”
Su Jiu shook her head. “No!”
She was just slightly shocked when she witnessed the ruthless side of Ji Yuxian.
“Yun Ao has to die! But I’m not sure if there would be a second Yun Ao in the tribe, and I’m unable to stay on this island for a long time. As such, this is the only way I can get rid of all these obstacles.”
This island had originally belonged to the tribe. If someone began to set their eyes on the ore and thought that the mine was theirs due to greed, it would mean endless trouble for the Ji Manor.
He did not have a choice but to guard against the uncertainty of mankind!
“Ji Yuxian, Yun Ao and his daughter deserved to die as they have betrayed the tribe! But most of the members of the tribe are innocent, so can you show mercy on them? You’re the Island Master and they are your citizens, so you should be protecting them. There will be rebels within a country as well, but the Emperor can’t possibly kill all his subjects and citizens as a defensive measure!” Su Jiu reasoned slowly.
“Sure!” Ji Yuxian replied immediately and hugged Su Jiu in worry. “I won’t do whatever you’re unhappy with!”
Su Jiu laughed lightly. “We’ll still come to this island when we are old! Do you want us to stay on a Wushan Isle filled with a sense of death?”
Ji Yuxian caressed her hair gently. “My wife is right. I’ve been acting inconsiderately!”
The man was still shuddering in fear. It was a blessing that Su Jiu could protect herself with her martial arts. Otherwise, the members of the tribe would not be the only ones targeted by the men in black.
What use would it be for him to cure the poison within his body should anything happen to Su Jiu?
The killing spree had gradually come to an end. Su Jiu looked over and asked, “Who are these men in black?”
Ji Yuxian shook his head. “I’ve yet to find out! At that time, when they entered the island in secret and were discovered to have buried the explosives, we wanted to keep two of them alive upon arrest. However, they killed themselves before we could interrogate them!”
He thought he could draw out the mastermind behind these men in black this time. Based on the situation right now, however, it seemed that the person who had instructed them and contacted Yun Ao and his daughter in private was only a representative who would die for his master.
Jin Feng rushed over as the sky turned dark. He knelt on one knee as he reported, “Young Master, the leader of the men in black have fled with two other men. The rest of them who had been captured have already killed themselves. Additionally, Yun Zhu has been taken away.”
Ji Yuxian frowned slightly as he wondered. Were these assassins extremely loyal, or did their master have something on them?
They would kill themselves the moment they got captured!
“Continue with the plan!”
“Noted!”
“Send the members of the tribe back to the settlement, then send the miners back to the mining district!” Ji Yuxian ordered.
Jin Feng’s eyes flickered as he remained silent. He then went off after acknowledging Ji Yuxian’s words.
Wu Yi and Yan Shu walked over and saw Ji Yuxian. “Congratulations, Eldest Young Master!” Wu Yi said with a smile.
Ji Yuxian looked down at him calmly as his lips curled into a faint smile. “I will remember you for saving my life, Young Master Wu!”
“Eldest Young Master, you are welcome! There may be a time when I will require your help, and I only hope that you won’t refuse!” Wu Yi stood beside the horse while wearing the miners’ clothes. He was filthy and dirty from head to toe, but his charisma was extraordinary. He appeared elegant, like a lotus blossoming out of the mud.
“Of course!” Ji Yuxian replied flatly as he turned the horse around and galloped away.
Yan Shu stepped forward. The human skin mask was still plastered on her face as she smiled lightly. “The show today has finally ended! The Ji Manor’s Eldest Young Master indeed lives up to his name. I’m beginning to be more interested in him!”
Wu Yi rolled his eyes. “I do hope that you can seduce him so we can get hold of that woman easily!”
Yan Shu sighed. “Why didn’t I practice the skills of seduction?”
“Believe in yourself! You’ll be able to succeed even without mastering the skills of seduction!” Wu Yi reassured her.
Yan Shu laughed dryly. “Didn’t you say that I’m inferior to Young Mistress Ji?”
Wu Yi blinked. “Sometimes, when a man is used to a beautiful woman, he may get curious about somebody who looks different.”
Was he implying that she was ugly?
The corners of Yan Shu’s lips trembled as she spoke through her clenched teeth, “Master is right! Moreover, your disciple has to be the one doing the seduction, since Su Jiu has already seen Master peeing! How would Master be able to tolerate it if she mentions it from time to time?”
Wu Yi’s expression turned ghastly the next instant. “I’ll kill her immediately if she dares to mention it!”
“Master, don’t act rashly! The level of Ji Yuxian’s martial arts is unfathomable, so Master needs to bear with it for a while longer!” Yan Shu smiled as she teased gently.
Wu Yi glanced at her briefly, before walking away with a flick of his sleeve.
Yan Shu followed behind him gleefully.
It was late at night when they arrived back at the settlement. Su Jiu went ahead to take a shower.
Three people were waiting for her downstairs to have dinner together after she finished washing up and changing her clothes.
Wu Yi was not joining them for dinner, while Yan Shu went back to her room early to rest as she had suffered injuries on her legs.
Jin Feng was still leading his men to clean up the bodies of the assassins and tracking the number of injuries within the tribe. He was expected to be occupied the entire night.
Su Jiu’s gaze landed on Shangguan, and she noticed that he was chatting with Old Gu. He appeared spirited and refreshed, unlike his previous dejected and lethargic self.
She rolled her eyes as she asked, “Shangguan, where did you go the night before, and who have you met?”
Shangguan was stunned for a moment. “…The night before?”
He pondered about it for a while. “I didn’t meet anyone! I came back after going for a spin!” he answered.
Su Jiu looked at him emotionlessly and saw that his eyes were filled with shock. He seemed to be genuinely recalling his memories and did not appear to be in pretense. She smiled and nodded. “You can forget about it! I was just asking.”
Ji Yuxian reached over with his chopsticks and filled her bowl as he said tenderly, “Eat!”
Su Jiu did not have lunch, and she was indeed famished at this moment. She shoved a mouthful of food into her mouth and looked up to ask Old Gu, “Is the poison within Ji Yuxian’s body completely gone?”
“Yes!” Old Gu answered and said sternly the next instant, “But don’t think of killing the donkey once it leaves the millstone and chase me out, Ji Yuxian! You’ve promised to take care of my retirement!”
Su Jiu and Ji Yuxian looked at each other and smiled craftily.
Su Jiu raised her brows. “It will depend on your performance, Old Gu!”
Old Gu snorted. “You’re such a cunning little girl! You’ll influence Ji Yuxian with your bad behavior someday!”
Su Jiu shrugged her shoulders, wondering who was going to end up more evil!
Shangguan Yunkun interrupted, “Since the poison has been cleared, when are we going back to Daliang Country?”
Ji Yuxian took a handkerchief and dabbed it on the corner of his lips. “We will pack up tomorrow and head back the day after!”
Shangguan was immediately elated, as he could finally go back to meet his woman!
They went back to their respective rooms after dinner.
The moment they entered their room, Su Jiu asked, “We’re going back to Daliang Country the day after? What about those men in black who have fled?”
She knew that Ji Yuxian must have allowed the leader of the men in black to flee on purpose, as he wanted to find the mastermind behind the assassins.
Ji Yuxian pulled her into his embrace and leaned forward to kiss her forehead. “He won’t run away if I’m on the island. Don’t worry, I’ve made arrangements!” he reassured her with a chuckle.
Su Jiu nodded in realization.
“You don’t want to leave?” Ji Yuxian’s thin lips kissed her eyelids and traveled down to her lips as he pecked lightly.
Su Jiu shook her head. “It’s not that!”
She missed her mother and the members of Dragon Conqueror Gang. She had not seen Ah Shu’s child for some time, and Nangong Bi was about to give birth.
Furthermore, many people were waiting for her return back to Shengjing City. She could not possibly hide on the island due to her desire to live in its peaceful environment.
“Jiu’er, why were Wu Yi and Yan Shu together with you in the mining district?” Ji Yuxian asked.
Su Jiu frowned lightly. “I discovered them following me in the mineshaft! They wouldn’t tell me the reason when I asked them about their intentions.”
The two of them had behaved weirdly and normally at the same time. Because of that, the rest of them were unable to guess what they were exactly thinking about.
“Are you sure you’ve never met Wu Yi?” Ji Yuxian asked.
Su Jiu nodded her head. “I’ve never met him.”
Ji Yuxian’s gaze darkened. “Then I’ll send some people to investigate him. I feel that he came here for you.”
Su Jiu was deep in thought, but she did not end up with a conclusion.
It was the first time she had met Wu Yi, and they had no grudges towards each other. Moreover, it did not seem like he had known her based on his aloofness.
“Don’t think about it anymore. You don’t need to be afraid of anyone with your husband around!” the man said consolingly and carried her towards the bed.
It was time to do something proper as the night was getting late!
Su Jiu’s body gradually turned feeble as she caught a whiff of the faint aroma of lotus emanating from the man’s body. Unrelated thoughts were banished from her mind as her arms hung around the man’s neck, and she raised her head to kiss the Adam’s apple on his throat.
The man swallowed hard as he placed the woman onto the bed and brought down the bed canopy. He leaned towards her in a hurry.
It was a blessing that he was still able to love her. As such, he vowed to treasure every moment.
It was past one a.m. when the island gradually quietened down after experiencing a day of chaos.
A cave located by the sea was shining with dim candle flames. Three men dressed in black sat around the bonfire as they discussed their escape plan.
One of them had a black mole between his brows, and he was the leader of the operation this time. His face was green with anguish, and bulging veins could be seen on his forehead due to the failure of the operation.
He had thought the plan to be foolproof since the father and daughter duo from the Yun Family were located within the tribe to help them break-in. They would create chaos on the island once the explosives were set off, and they would be able to kill everyone in the tribe and the guards of the Ji Manor while Ji Yuxian was still unconscious. They would be able to take control over Wushan Isle easily.
He had brought almost 500 men into the island this time, and he was extremely confident in succeeding. However, they still ended up failing after putting in so much effort.
“That old man Yun Ao was useless!” Another man in black said hatefully, “He didn’t even realize that he was being tailed, and had let other people remove the explosives! Ji Yuxian was not unconscious as well!”
The leader replied flatly, “The Ji Manor seemed like they were prepared!”
The truth was laid out before them. As much as they hated to admit it, they had been tricked by Ji Yuxian.
“Leader, what should we do with this woman?” The man in black turned around to look at the woman, who was trembling in fear as she crouched under the stone wall.
Yun Zhu saw them looking over and instantly retreated backward. “I want to go back! I want to find my father! Please send me back!” she begged in trepidation.
“Find your father?” The man in black grinned and laughed coldly. “Your father has long been hacked to death by Ji Yuxian!”
Yun Zhu’s eyes widened in disbelief. “No, that’s impossible! My father won’t die!”
It was hectic within the woods, as the different groups of people had gotten entangled in the killing spree. Moreover, she did not see her father running off due to the darkness.
She had been hiding behind the tree until the men in black arrested her when they fled.
The men laughed as they harbored malicious intentions. “Then you can go find him on your own. Perhaps you may get to pick up his skeleton!”
All color drained from Yun Zhu’s face within the next instant. She sprawled on the floor and burst out in tears.
“You can hate Ji Yuxian if you must, and you must be ruthless if you choose to act!” The leader snorted.
“I must seek revenge for my father!” Yun Zhu said through her gritted teeth as viciousness flashed across her teary eyes.
“How are you going to seek revenge? You’re now a criminal to your tribe! I’m sure they’re very eager to cut you into pieces right now, and they’ll kill you the moment you appear in front of them!”
Yun Zhu stared blankly, at a loss of what to do next.
Ji Yuxian was surrounded by several highly skilled guards, making it impossible for her to kill him.
Her father was dead, and she could no longer return to the settlement. Where else could she go?
She had never left the settlement since she grew up there.
Other than bearing hatred and contempt, she suddenly felt lost.
“Leader, let’s leave the island while it’s dark!” one of the men said.
They might as well run for their lives since the operation had already failed.
The leader shook his head. “We can’t. The island is now filled with people who are after our lives. Our boats have already been confiscated by the Ji Manor, and we are only left with one boat that we have previously hidden. We’ll be easily captured if we leave by the boat right now, so we can’t take the risk.”
“Then… when can we leave?”
“The poison within Ji Yuxian’s body seems like it has been cleared, so he won’t stay on the island for too long! Let’s leave after he does.”
Yun Zhu pounced over upon hearing his words. “Please bring me along! Let me leave the island together with you!”
The leader laughed sardonically. “Bring you along? What can you do?”
“I can do anything! I can do your laundry and sew your clothes!” Yun Zhu knelt on the ground and said hurriedly.
She could no longer stay on the island, so she had to find a way to survive.
The three men burst into laughter the moment she finished speaking. One of them replied mockingly, “What an ignorant woman! What’s so useful about doing laundry and sewing clothes?”
Yun Zhu’s face immediately flushed red as she pinched the corners of her clothes and bit onto her lower lip.
The leader held onto her chin, forcing her to look up as he scanned across her face. “This face is barely acceptable. I wonder if this body is of any good use.”
The other two men grinned as they looked at Yun Zhu with evil intentions.
Yun Zhu’s eyes teared up due to the pain coming from her chin. “What… what do you want?”
“What can you give me other than this body?” The leader laughed maliciously.
“No, no!” Yun Zhu struggled as she tried to hide.
However, the leader grabbed hold of her collar as viciousness flashed across his eyes under the candle flames. “Think about it properly! Get out of here right now if you’re unwilling. It’s none of our business if you end up getting killed, and we’re not kind enough to let you stay since we’re not even related!”
He shoved the woman violently upon speaking.
Yun Zhu fell onto the ground as tears rolled down her cheeks. She looked at him frightfully.
The leader got to his feet and walked into the deeper end of the cave. “Come over once you’ve straightened out your thoughts!”
Yun Zhu held onto her collar tightly as desperation filled her eyes. After a long while, she finally stood up and walked over slowly.
She did not want to die. She wanted to live for the sake of herself and to seek revenge for her father!
Very quickly, the sounds of clothes being ripped and the woman’s pitiful cries could be heard from the darkness. The man was not gentle at all and was only focused on taking his anger out on the woman. The woman could only scream in excruciating pain.
On the other hand, the other two men were excited when they heard her screams. They could not help but rub their hands together as they waited for their leader to finish before it was their turn.
The man walked out as he put on his clothes an hour later. It was silent within the cave, and the woman seemed to have fallen unconscious.
“Leader, can we…?” One of the men grinned evilly.
“Hmm?” The leader frowned as he glanced over with a piercing gaze, appearing murderous.
The two of them sat down immediately, not daring to move.
“She’s my woman from now on! I’ll give her to you once I’m bored of her!” the leader replied flatly as he sat down beside the bonfire once again.
“Sure, sure!”
The two men agreed profusely and peeked into the cave while trying to restrain their thoughts.
